Hey everyone, welcome back to the CBRS #Podcast! We're excited to share the highlights from episode 46, where we dive into the latest happenings in the Hive community and beyond. We had planned to chat with the @skatehive, but since they couldn’t join us, we rolled with an old-school podcast style, packed with updates, giveaways, and some cool ideas. Here’s what we talked about!
Hive-Echo Giveaway and Community Engagement
We kicked things off with @Hive-Echo, where we give away 10 HIVE to five lucky winners, thanks to our friends at @ThreeSpeak. This week’s winners were @kachy2022, @belion01, @ruhlar, @abdullahkr & @roswelborges. Congratulations to all! We spun the Wheel of Names to pick them, and it’s always a fun moment to see who gets the prize.
We also discussed a recent community initiative on Hive Discord channel. A Hive tag was created to boost engagement/Support, and we helped amplify it through #Hive-Echo. The response was amazing and over 300 comments on the post! However, we noticed one person took a screenshot of the tag, claimed the rewards, and switched back to their old tag. While there were no strict rules about keeping the tag, we think it’s a bit sneaky. Next time, we’ll set clearer guidelines, like keeping the tag for a week to earn rewards. It’s all about learning and keeping things fair in our decentralized community!
Exciting Hive Blockchain Developments
Hive Blockchain is buzzing with new updates! One big piece of news is that @theBeeDevs have registered Hive Snaps for MetaMask, meaning you can now or will soon be able to connect Hive directly to MetaMask. This is a huge step for making Hive more accessible, though we’re still curious about the details—like how it works for transfers or transactions. It’s exciting to see Hive integrating with tools like #MetaMask, and we’re looking forward to learning more about what this means for users.
Another cool development is that #StealthEX now accepts Hive, opening up new ways to trade and exchange crypto for Hive. Plus, we heard that Hive had a strong presence at a recent conference in Dortmund Germany, with the Hive rally car stealing the show as @lordbutterfly said on X: The Most Visited Booth. That car is total eye candy and a great way to draw attention to Hive at events. We’re even brainstorming ways to bring the rally car to future events, like a potential HiveFest in Lithuania. Imagine attendees getting to ride in it!
HiveFest and Local Community Ideas
Speaking of @HiveFest, we’re dreaming big about hosting it in Lithuania. We’ve got ideas for venues, media partners like #GoVilnius, and even speakers from major crypto companies like Blockchain.com, which has a presence in Lithuania. We’ve started crunching numbers for the budget and exploring hotel discounts to make it happen. It’s still early days, but we’re excited to plan something that brings Hive community together.
We also want to create a space for local businesses and speakers to mingle with Hive community, even if they’re not deep into #crypto. It’s all about exchanging ideas and showing how Hive can fit into the broader #Web3 world. Hive is perfect for promoting projects because it rewards creators and connects with people already interested in blockchain. We’re all about building a big circle of learning and sharing!
CoinMarketCap, OnRamper, and More
We wrapped up the podcast with some final updates. We’re in talks with @hivetrending to connect Hive to #CoinMarketCap, which could be a game-changer for visibility. There’s a challenge with posting links (like from @PeakD or @Ecency) that breaks on CoinMarketCap, but we’re exploring solutions like using TinyURL to make them work smoothly. With Hive main account having 24,000 followers already on CoinMarketCap, we got a great opportunity to grow Hive presence there.
We also learned that #OnRamper is partnering with Hive for its next integration, which means you’ll soon be able to buy Hive using fiat through services like #RevolutPay. We’re curious about the fees and steps involved, but it’s another exciting way to make Hive more accessible. Lastly, we mentioned the #CodeHive Worldwide Hackathon running from September 1st to 20th, with a $10,000 prize pool.
