Happy start to the weekend, everyone! Today I want to share with you my last vacation experience on the Venezuelan coast. It was my last trip with my wife to the town of Naiguatá, where we were staying. Of course, talking about Naiguatá inevitably means talking about beaches, since the area lies between the imposing El Ávila mountain and the Caribbean Sea. The eight beaches I visited during those days are still just a small sample of everything the area has to offer.

¡Feliz inicio del fin de semana para todos!. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue mi última experiencia vacacional en el litoral venezolano. Se trata de un último paseo que di junto a mi esposa en el pueblo de Naiguatá donde nos estábamos alojados; claro que hablar de Naiguatá es hablar inevitablemente de playas, ya que la zona queda entre el imponente cerro de El Ávila y el Mar Caribe, y las ocho playas que conocí esos días siguen siendo una pequeña muestra de todo lo que hay en la zona.
On this exploratory walk, I came across many buildings, some very elegant and others practically abandoned. It's a tourist area, but things aren't doing very well economically around here, so we always see places that aren't being fully utilized. These buildings are residential, and absolutely everything is just a few minutes from the beach. In the Camurí Grande area, you can find a branch of Simón Bolívar University, which surprised me because Naiguatá is really far from Caracas.
En este paseo exploratorio me encontré con muchos edificios, algunos muy elegantes y otros prácticamente abandonados. Es una zona turística, pero económicamente las cosas no andan muy bien por estos lados, así que siempre vemos lugares a los que no se les saca todo el provecho. Esos edificios son residenciales, y absolutamente todo está a pocos minutos de la playa. En la zona de Camurí Grande se puede encontrar una sede de la Universidad Simón Bolívar, lo cual me sorprendió porque Naiguatá es realmente lejos si viajamos desde Caracas.
If you're not careful, you're bound to stumble upon a beach 😅 Naiguatá and Camurí Grande are crossed by the Naiguatá-Los Caracas Highway, and if you enter any street or corridor that goes north, you'll inevitably come out onto one of its beaches. In many areas, the ground is only sand and stones, and you'll occasionally come across a river. Even though it's far away, you can see that people live very peacefully in this small town in the state of La Guaira, and for us tourists, nothing is missing. In fact, there are plenty of places to stay, and at very good prices.
Si te descuidas mucho, lo más seguro es que te tropieces con una playa 😅 Naiguatá y Camurí Grande están atravesadas por la Carretera Naiguatá - Los Caracas, y si entras en alguna calle o pasillo que vaya hacia el norte inevitablemente saldrás hacia alguna de sus playas. En muchas zonas el suelo es solo arena y piedras, y eventualmente te encuentras algún río. Aunque sea lejano, se ve que la gente vive muy tranquila en este pequeño pueblo del Estado La Guaira y para nosotros los turistas no hace falta nada, de hecho sobran los lugares para hospedarse y con muy buenos precios.
It was inevitable that this post wouldn't end with beachscapes. Although I've shared some photos of the town in my previous posts, the area's beaches truly stand out, and I believe that's the reason why people live and visit Naiguatá. This was the last day of my trip, and I took it upon myself to walk from Playa de Dios in Naiguatá to Playa Bonita, at the end of Camurí Grande. Many beaches may have different names, but it's the same ocean. For some reason, waves are stronger in some areas, but its beauty and the colors of the sea remain intact in each one.
Era inevitable que este post no terminara con paisajes playeros, más allá de que ya he compartido algunas fotos del pueblo en mis publicaciones anteriores, en la zona realmente resaltan son las playas, y creo que es el motivo por el cual la gente vive y visita Naiguatá. Este fue el último día de mi viaje, y me encargué de caminar desde Playa de Dios en Naiguatá, hasta Playa Bonita, al final de Camurí Grande. Puede que muchas playas tengan nombres distintos, pero es el mismo mar, que por alguna razón tiene oleaje más fuerte en algunas zonas, pero su belleza y los colores del mar se mantienen intactos en cada una de ellas.
One of the biggest attractions of this area, and undoubtedly what gives it a distinctive touch compared to other beaches I've visited in Venezuela, is the number of loose rocks in the sea, many of them scattered across the beaches. It may be a bit annoying to get into the water, but they look amazing and impressive. This area is so remote that it wasn't affected by the Vargas tragedy of December 1999, so the presence of the rocks must have another origin, unlike nearby beaches like Macuto. Uno de los mayores atractivos de esta zona y sin duda lo que le da un toque distintivo a otras playas que he visitado en Venezuela es la cantidad de rocas sueltas en el mar, muchas de ellas atravesadas en medio de las playas. Puede que sea algo molesto para meterse al agua, pero lucen geniales e imponentes. Esta zona es tan lejana que no fue afectada por la tragedia de Vargas de Diciembre de 1999, así que la presencia de las rocas debe tener otro origen, a diferencia de playas cercanas como Macuto; así que con estos paisajes de rocas y rompeolas me despido esperando que les haya gustado mi publicación.
