Hello and welcome back to the 6th edition of blanchy's curation corner. Last week we have @mdakash62 scare the living be jaysus out of us with his scary serial killer mask. But for our 6th edition is a special one. If there was ever a title of a post to drag you in. It is this one. 

## Incest- pros and cons

This is a post by @zuerich and I have chosen this for post of the week and its a new post hot off the presses. Now I don't know @zeurich personally but he has a shit load of Hive and could downvote me into the next century so I have to chose my words carefully. But this is my post of the week so @zuerich should be proud and upvote me really for promoting his incest is best post. We have never had a whale post on blanchys post of the week before but this is a first. But it just had to be my post of a week. As a famous Irish artist once said

The reasons why this post dragged me in was why it dragged everyone in which is a touch of genius from @zuerich. 


>What are the pros of incest? 😂

The author posts up graphs of where all the incest happening and talks about the disadvantages to marrying your brother from the mothers sister. He posts a sourced map on where the inbreeding is happening in the world which is mainly in Africa and the middle east. The author explains that marrying your cousin is normal behaviour in some countries and there are pros and cons to this. Now my question is what shopping centre did the men in white coats stand outside to obtain this data? The question "Is she your cousin? may not go down that well with most"
Did they just interview the couples with cross eyed kids is my question?

Let have a look at the downsides from the authors opinion. 
> 
- increased risk of genetic disorders
- higher infant and child mortality
- reduced genetic diversity
- significantly lower IQ of 2.5 to 10 IQ points (source)

This seems around right that there is a high risk of disability if you go down the incest route. But if you are a gambling man or woman you could take the risk and come out tops. 

## What are the pros , what are the pros? Hold your horses. 

We are getting to this , we are getting to this. 

Just on the reduced genetic diversity. It is probably seen as a pros to some traditional families. I know most of you had a daughter or son bring home a head banger , BBW or BBC so it might be a pros that someone brings home someone from the family. 
 

# Advantages of Incest 

Lets go through them. 

- **less trust issues**
A 1st cousin or sister ain't gonna fuck you over so there is more of a trust there. Although I can counteract this with your spouse maybe could flee to another country after a long life of abuse. 


- **lower costs for higher education of the offspring**
🤣 So basically the child will be thick as a ditch so they won't be going to college. I can counteract this with the cost of a full time carer far out weights the cost of higher education 

- **lower probability of divorce (as expectations of the partner are lower)**
The Uncle won't let you. The brackets crack me up. He was a waster when he was a child. He still is a waster. Low expectations. 
- **For an incestuous marriage fewer people have to be invited. So less people have to travel which lowers the carbon footprint.**
🤣 One family comes to the wedding. Less travel. 
- what else?


The author ends the pros with a question "What else?" It is an interesting one which got me thinking. 

If I married the cousin how would that be good? 

- Well you could say that my auntie is my mother in law and vice versa. 1st cousin is also your wife and her brother is your brother in law/ cousin. Less relations to buy presents for. 
 
- The land stays in the family. 

- Disability Allowance from the government.


The author does admit he will lose followers over this post but I beg to differ. I'm gonna follow him. And nobody unfollows a geezer with that most HP. We are all prostitutes on Hive who will allow incest talk for a decent upvote.

Now around this time in my curation corner we give marks out of 10 and if a post gets a ten out of ten then I will ring up each witness personally to lobby for the post of the week to get an 100% upvote. Now we have to take marks off for the non sourcing of the nazi sign. You were so close to the perfect post however. 

Unfortunately Posh Reddit even commented to the author and declined his post under the "religion tag" which is a shame really as I found this even funnier than the post itself. The author also posts a photo up of Sloth from the Goonies who is the most famous retarded Hollywood actor who got the part as a result of being severely disabled due to incest or maybe the Goonies just had a great make up artist.

**Business as usual at Hive HQ'S temporary Hivefest headquarters.**

2pm we have a performance from the GYM Street Workout who we flew over.150 of them. 
3pm we have an update on the progress of chess/ Katan / Monopoly / snakes n ladders /monsters game  by stan
4pm we have the devs talking about the power of Docker containers at 4pm. 
5pm we have the Indian hackathon guys
6pm Large banquet.


Ok lets proceed as normal. We are flying blind at the moment here. A couple of witnesses are very quiet and they are usually moaning at me at this stage OF Hivefest.  Nobody will really look up this guys wallet because his comments are not displayed anymore and everyone is sick of his shit.

*Ammmmmmmmm unfortuately Leofinance have not shown up and are currently live streaming from the Thorchain conference in Oslo. But they do have a special guest in their place. Please welcome to the stage BPCvoter!!*

**[Multiple grumbles]**

This was it. This was his time to shine. BPCvoter walked on stage to the shock of the Hive massif. With his Rolex submariner watch and his tailored suit he took to the stage fairly impressive. There were mumbles all round as the Hivefest attendees wondered who this guy was. He had just paid off the Leo lads with a modest sum of money to not turn up for their 1 hour slot but in the back of his mind he knew he was doing them a favour. He had also bribed the host to leave him on but that was easy as she had not slept for 8 nights- just come off two long haul flights all while negotiating 10 back to back deals for Hive and also freeing 100 children from the Lost City of Gold using just a whip and a mascara brush. But she didn't half go on about it.    

*"First of all this is not about Blipcoin. One or two of you would have noticed by now that I have effectively taken over at Hive. I have more HP than the top 100 witnesses combined. Many Hive witnesses have given me their keys for a blank cheque also under the condition that I have told them not to reveal themselves. I have upvoted the return proposal so DHF funding has effectively ceased and I will be doing a full audit with real accountants on every project to ensure there are no crusties draining the Hive ecosystem."*

BPCvoter looked around and saw tears streaming from a number of people like they had lost their first born. 

*"Some of you would have also noticed I have downvoted all the witnesses posts in the past week but sadly there were only 3 that posted so it may have passed you all by."*

BPCvoter started getting a few nods off the middle class Hive accounts which was very surprising although he could see the GYM Street sharpening their knives in the background so his time was limited. 

Right now my IT guy has set up 40 witness accounts from my server farm on Idaho and I have effectively taken over from the platform. Now before you all fork which is what will happen. Remember this. I have 400 million more to play with  on a nice shiny new forked crypto so maybe think about this before you hit the hard fork button. You can run but you can't hide. Who knows , Hive may be a better place with me at the helm. In all fairness you couldn't do a worse job if you tried with Hive. Ned was even better that our present overlords who preach decentralisation but with actions that decentraliation actually does not work. 

With the exception of the 150 daggers being thrown at him from the audience primarily made up of those who were currently making a living draining Hive , the rest of the Hivefest actually thought bpcvoter had a very good point. Hive had been stagnating for years. why not embrace the change? The token was now trading at $4.55 which attracted people in itself without any marketing whatsoever. The cancelation of the DHF meant the token would increase even more while bpcvoter focused on a more centralised marketing approach. This was all good news. 

*"Hive is under new management. You will hear for me in due course. But for now my job is to protect the blockchain and do a full audit. I shall bid you good day."*

And with that bpcvoter left the stage. Two of his Russian heavies blocked the path while he walked off stage and it was just in time as the Gymnasts bounced off them while they tried to attack. When bpcvoter exited the building a pair of full beams targeted him. He heard a rev and it was the rally car coming hurdling towards him. Bpcvoter's life flashed before his eyes. He was about to be a goner. He held his hands to his face and awaited the collison but he heard a bang. The engine had blown up and the rally car crashed into a wall. His looked around at his security and they were being swarmed by the Gym Street Workout. A high heel came hurdling towards him. It was the conference queen and she was out to get him. "You cannot take this away from me." They wrestled on the ground. 
Just then a car pulled up. It was @haejin  
"GET IN THE DAM CAR!"

*"What are you doing here?"*

I WILL EXPLAIN. JUST GET IN THE DAM CAR"

BPCVOTER scrambled into the car amidst the deluge of scratches and bites. He looked back at his Russian security who were now overran. He blessed himself when he saw that they were brown bread.  He will pay their families handsomely for this. They will never go wanting. 

*We need to get you out of this city man.*
*You are a dead man walking.*
*Call the hotel and tell them there has been a murder. It will stall some time.*
They will call in world mapping and figure out where we will go next. You need to go to somewhere you have never been before. They will know I will have rescued you by now and they will be currently unleashing the Shadowhunters to track us down. 
Where is the place they can never find us?
*I know, where is the last place they will look for the mighty villian @haejin*

Yeah we made friends in the end. 
*Where is that?*

*He's holed up on Solomen Island with the cannibals. The only place where the Shadowhunters and conference queen refuse to go! It's dangerous but it's our only chance.*

BPCVOTER wins the Lottery Part 2- Hivefest

Hello and welcome to the results the final day of the Ryder Cup that took place in Bethpage New York.The famous singles matches took place yesterday and what we thought would be a procession for the Europeans was anything but as they struggled in the end to win against the Americans who fought back to 15-13 which was a very respectable result in the end. Now there was a bit of controversary also as Victor Hovland injured his neck celebrating his win in the foursomes on Saturday. Tyrell Hatton took his place in the fourball but unfortunately it ruled him out completely for the final day of the competition. I asked the question to a golf nerd friend on Saturday night. Do Europe just lose the points now? No was the answer. Each country gets a half and the American meant to play Hovland has the day off. I think this will be a point of contention for the Americans. The Americans won 6 of their singles. A record for a final day. They also tied 5. The Europeans had only 1 win which was Ludwig Aberg against Patrick Cantlay. The Europeans looked drained on the final day from the tension and the abuse they received throughout the weekend which was terrible really. Granted the Americans get some abuse when they come to European but it was never this personel.

# Summary 
Absolutely sensational final day and this means the charts have toppled on their head. The key to this game was getting the winning team right and 3 unlucky souls backed the US of A. @niallon11 who has ties to Trump Doonbeg so he was forced to go with America. @tortangkahoy who has an American wife or girlfriend and the one more..... 
I have never seen a Scots man fall as much since my last watching of Braveheart. I had to rub my eyes to make sure he had the USA to win , the turncoat. Go get yourself an Iron bru and have a chat to yourself @tengolotodo 😜 . Even if @tengolotodo went for Europe it would have been the same result anyway because he only would have gotten 38 points so at least this is a consolation. But well played @tengolotodo . If America did pull it off you would have cleaned up. 
So with the top ranked player from day 2 going with America the writing was on the wall for him. Although @tortangkahoy had an immense day 3 it just wasn't enough. @blanchy (the legend and a tidy golfer) surged into second place but @hotdogsensei was Mr Consistent over the weekend with a 12, 8 and 12 scores. With Europe winning he was well clear of the rest. Well done @hotdogsensei. 20 Hive goes to you. Sports mad @doombot75 was a close third as he surged from mediocracy into 3rd place with a 12 pointer on day 3. @bluerobo came in 4th with a great final day. 
The two Galway men which is a known golfing county with golf courses everywhere you look finished last place. It is lucky the Tipperary man finished 2nd to save their blushs. The Hojgaard's of the group. Just filled in the numbers 😜. @ablaze started off with a double bogey by scanning the competition post and giving me the 6 names from Tier 1 , 2 and 3 forgetting about tier 4 , 5 and 6. It is the equivalent to a scorecard not signed after winning a major or an extra golf club being in the bag leading to disqualification. But he did not finish last which is a surprise. The two Galway men can fight it out around the late entries from @ablaze to get him over the line on the final day. It is the equivalent to leaving someone off with a 6 footer there @niallon11.

Hello and welcome to the results of day 2 of the Ryder Cup that took place in Bethpage New York.We had two rounds of Ryder cup matches yesterday, the foursomes in the morning and the fourballs in the afternoon. America had it all to do on Saturday and it looked like Keegan Bradley got his picks correct. However Europe were just better. The hostile atmosphere spurred on the Europeans and it was another bloodbath and a record win for the Europeans in this time of the competition. It is now 11.5 - 4.5 to the Europeans. An absolute hammering. The first round of the morning were the foursomes and the Europeans won 3-1. In the afternoon it was a similar rout 3-1. Scheffler and De Chambeau were put together and they just could not better Fleetwood and Justin Rose.

So @tengolotodo is still ahead but @hatdogsensei is still hot on his heels.It is all to play for. @niallon11 still has a chance to win and I am still an outsider. Unfortunately @ablaze gave me his tier 3,4 and 5 selections half way through the evening fourball so I cannot include these in the results of Day 2. I will include them in day 3. Hello and welcome to the results of day 1 of the Ryder Cup that took place in Bethpage New York.We had two rounds of Ryder cup matches yesterday, the foursomes in the morning and the fourballs in the afternoon. Europe came out of the traps early on in the middle of cringy heckling from the American crowd. But they came out fighting and hammered the Americans 3-1 in the morning session. The fourball was later on that afternoon where the Americans showed a bit more of a fight where the Eurpeans put another 2 on the board bot the Americans got a half and a win to make it 5 and a half to 2 and a half. The Europeans are half way there now with the Americans having alot of work to do. Rahm and Tommy Fleetwood played great for Europe but Scottie Scheffler, Bryson and Morakawa failed to even get off the board. America's strong players did not turn up. The Europeans shot 15 under par collectively and the players played extraordinary. Whereas the Americans were only OK. Rahm, Hatton, FitzPatrick, Auberg , Rose, Straka took care of business.

# Summary 

@tengolotodo storms ahead. Easy known he grew up near the home of golf as his selectons were spot on. He picked Rory, Tommy Fleetwood, Cantely and Thomas to get him in first place. 
@hatdogsensei storms into second with John Rahm having a great day but @niallon11 with Rory , Cantley and Rose and Xander getting him points. 
@ablaze slipped up by not giving me any golfers from tier 4 , 5 and 6. Instead picking a second golfer from tier 1, 2 and 3. You can take the Galway horse to the water put you can't make him drink it. If you want to give me tier 4 , 5 and 6 tomorrow I will include them but for today they have to be void buddy sorry. You are still ahead of me and level with @doombot75 and @tortangkahoy .

I have learnt from my last few posts this week that not many people like our largest Community anymore and not many people like golf. But I am gonna give one more stab at the golf as it commences tomorrow and I need more entrants. We have 5 so far and I will be a 6th.

Hello and welcome to the Hive Ryder Cup Contest 2025. We have a great competition lined up for you for the 45th Ryder Cup that commences tomorrow on the 26th September 2025 at Farmingdale, New York , USA. This contest is free to enter and there will be daily prizes over the course of the 3 days. For those of you who are not into golf , there is an explanation of the various Ryder Cup formats below so why not make a few selections and just partake for a bit of fun and interaction. 

## What is the Ryder Cup?
It's only the best golf tournament in the world. Europes best golfers battle it out against Americas best golfers in a 3 day event that begins on Friday morning and concludes on Sunday 28th September. It is a match play event and it only happens every two years. Europe are the current Ryder Cup holders but they have to go to American soil in order to defend it and predictions are that it will be a hostile atmosphere at Bethpage. But historically it is well reported that the Europeans are better as a team than the Americans but the event is now in their back yard and they are eager to take revenge on what happened two years ago in Italy. Over the last 5 Ryder Cups the home team has never lost yet so pressure is on.

Hello and welcome to Blanchy's post of week. The weekly curation post but with a twist. You can look back at my last post of the week "Sexless Men"[here](https://peakd.com/curation/@blanchy/blanchys-curation-corner-post-of-the-week-4-sexless-men) in which the sexually frustrated author wrote the reasons young males are not getting any. Today we have a special Halloween edition coming up. wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. 👻

Over the last few weeks I have urged to Community to send nominations to me and I am delighted to say that we have been inundated with posts of the week nominations since. In other words I have received 1 nomination. Now the person who sent this nomination who is active on Hive will remain nameless but we shall call him *"Man with Impressive Beard with a questionable taste in music that Just Became Hive's latest witness."* Anyway thank you "M-W-I-B-W-A-Q-T-I-M-T-J-B-H-L-W". You indeed are a king among men and an impressive beard to boot. 

Anyway I apologies first of all for this post of the week as it is forever etched in my memory forever just like a horror film that goes too far like that bloody film Wolf Creek. This post freaked me out so much that it had to be the post of the week in the end because I was too scared to review any other. 

The post is entitled:
## Spooky characters celebrating Halloween. 

by an author and a clearly a serial killer @mdakash62 . Now unlike our last few posts of the week , @mdakash62 has a decent HP and his bio is *"Blockchain based Hive platform is a unique world of education. Hope to give mankind the gift of education and the union of arts."* So we have to be nice to him.

This week @mdakash62 is educating us on making a disturbing looking mask that would frighten the life out of any adult human and if anyone came near me with a mask resembling the one in this post then I would reach for the closest kitchen knife and keep stabbing that thing until it was not moving. Mother of god. What makes it even worse is that @mdakash62 made a video of himself in character.

Now @mdakash62 , to me this is far from wonderful. It is an abomination. It is my worst nightmare. I woke up in a sweat 3 times last night with this rabbit eyes looking over me about to kill me in a rage. 

>Halloween is here and you definitely want to have fun. So let's celebrate the spooky style skills by creating a beautiful atmosphere among all of us and spreading joy among everyone. Especially children feel happy in spooky or funny costumes with great beauty. 

Fucking hell @mdakash62 if my kids saw that monstrosity they would need counselling for the rest of their lives. I have a good mind to ring child social services. The last thing I would call that mask is "great beauty". It was not made. Some demon possessed you at the time and this is the result of it and then the same demon went on hive.blog and typed a post. Quick blanchy , grab a crucifix. THOU SHALT RETURN TO HELLLLLL. 

>Especially on this day, the world is inspired by the new and different scary dresses of children. This is a wonderful scary Halloween celebration. However, children love to eat candy. That is nothing new. I have seen their scary different dress celebrations at the Halloween festival. 

Now normally at this stage in the article I look for a few faults. As I said before I have a hotline to every witness and I can just say the word and you get an upvote of $260. Now I only do this for 10/10 posts and I have not done one yet but this one is close. Marks deducted from this paragraph because it's more of a fact filler exercise. He explains how scary the costume is which is correct but contrasts that with "Children love to eat candy" which is also correct so there was no need for a "However" as they can be mutually exclusive events. The author mentions he has seen scary stuff at the Halloween festival which is also a filer as it would be the whole basis for a Halloween festival to dress up as something scary. So unfortunately you only get a ~~7/10~~ (checks Hive Power) 9/10. I am very sorry.

The author describes how people decorate their home for Halloween. He then does a nice photo collage around how to make the serial killer mask.

So a pair of scissors which was definitely a murder weapon in one of his first grizzly murders and the author is probably keeping it as a souvenir. He gets joy out of posting it on a blockchain for all to see but only he knows the intestines	 that scissors has seen. Next he gets a black marker. To make the freaky eyes. The rectangular noise that looks like a minus. And a robot mouth. The author introduces a red maker to do the outline of the face. He then adds the ears which are cauliflower like. Probably from the struggle of his victims pulling at his ears. The ears of a professional rugby player. The author then cuts out the mask which has probably come alive some what with evil. The author then puts on the mask to devastating results. He describes it again in his own words 

>*Here I have cut a sack and then I have prepared the shape of a ghost design by drawing it beautifully using a marker. Then I have prepared the shape of the face by cutting the design to the shape of the face with scissors. Surely this ghost design will inspire you with a beautiful video. This ghost performance is amazing even in dark pictures and light pictures. Surely you will spend a beautiful time with your family celebrating such joy. Sweet chocolate will definitely inspire you.*

The chocolate loving author calls the mask a ghost but it is the furthest thing from a ghost that I have ever fucking seen. Jeez Louise. "Surely this ghost design with inspire you with a beautiful video"!!! I just want to burn the video mate. The author encourages the reader to spend more time with your family making beautiful serial killer murder masks. He boosts of a joyous occasion but I can imagine the fear on his families faces when they make the authors next kill mask. His wife knows deep down that he is responsible for the recent spathe of disappearances in the locality but the money he brings home is too good and he hasn't tried to kill her and their children as of yet. So she turns a blind eye to the murdering at night. 



>*Halloween is celebrated every year on October 31st as a unique festival amidst fun and joy. We are leaving this event in front of you all today just for the purpose of enjoying our joy. Surely it will make you happy about the joy of Halloween.*

Last week I looked at what the top communities were on Hive and Leofinance were miles ahead of everyone with a whooping 25,575 subscribers in which 720 subscrbers were active over the last 7 days. My aul flower and soon to be a person of leisure @shanibeer asked me a question which I did not know the answer to. The question was , Out of the Leofinance active users could you check if the active users were old or new users.  Good question. So after a few trials and errors on a python script I came to the conclusion that the Hive API would not suffice with this kind of info so I cranked up the Hive SQL for the first time. Paid 1 HBD to get a code sent to me and off I went with Cursor AI and vibe coded a script to do this job. 

I have always liked Leofinance. I do not post regularly on it because I don't do many crypto posts and when I do I forget to use the Leofinance tag but I remember them when they set up and in fairness to them they have really went from strength to strength. They tried things that worked, they tried things that didn't work but the important thing is that they are trying which is more than I can say about the rest of the Hive Community. Let's take a look at their total subscribers first of all by year of when they subscribed to the Leo Community. This is from 2020.

So Leo's peak signup was 2021 which was Covid year and it is an outlier obviously. You can see the bump in 2024 when they started to get funded by the DHF. Easy to measure metrics right here. They might not have hit their targets but I tell you one thing. I would prefer a measurable metric that half hit a target than an non-measurable target that we don't know the ROI. 


## Current Active Users Signup Year. 
So below we see the 2013 active Leofinance users over the last 30 days. I found out that the 725 active users on the Community page screen on Peakd are those who created a transaction such as a comment or a post over the last 7 days so the 2013 is over the course of a month. Someone may correct me if I am wrong here. Point to note this is over a 30 day rolling month so if I cranked up the numbers today we would have a different set of results. 
466 active users of Leofinance were onboarded in 2025 so this answers @shanibeer 's question hopefully. So around a quarter of their active users were onboarded this year.  It is also good to see that Leo is retaining active users from the good or bad old days. Depends on how you want to think of it. Pretty even chart over the course of the few years which is positive.

# Leo Community All Time Top Posters

Leofinance represents 17.8% of all Hive posts with 4,256,322 posts. The 3rd largest posting community on the blockchain. . Let's take a look at the top users who post on Leo. We have @leoglossary  way out in front posting on @leofinance.   Then we have @leothreads  which is their container for their microblogging. @taskmaster4450 is in number 3 being a prominent Leofinance poster with @yann03 up ater him. I think going down through the list they have some strong Hive active posters embedded in their Community so it looks like a good base foundation right there. Hive rewards plus Leo rewards. It's a shrewd move. Rewards from both Communities. I should be doing it more. Just in case you are wondering. @khaleelkazi is coming in at 31st place which is not too shabby as the founder. He posts regularly but doesn't take the piss either. 
# Leo Community Top Active Posters (30 days Rolling)

Nobody going too wild which is the sign of a well regulated community.  

These two charts were a pain in the arse to put together and I am still looking at how best to use the Hive SQL. For example I was wondering why @khaleelkazi wasn't anywhere near the top 50 in posts . It was because he wasn't using the word "leofinance" in his recent tags. Only "Leo". In order to get an adequate data set I needed to include both the Leo and Leofinance tags and the Community tag which is #hive-167922. Sometimes that was in the tags and leo wasn't  and sometimes leo was in and the tag wasn't. It was all a good learning experience. But in order to adequately get a sense for the users who post in the community I included the Leo , Leofinance and the Hive-167922 tag.

One thing I did not that the total subscriber count in the Hive API , in Hive SQL and on the front of the Community page are all different numbers. 

**API: 26,091 subscribers**
**HiveSQL: 26,128 subscribers**
**Community page: 25,025 subscribers**

There is difference of around 1066 in the total subscribers. Would anyone know why this is? Are the users muted or show no transactions? I am not sure why but the difference between the Community page and the API, SQL is quite big. We used the dataset between 2020 and present which added up to 21,573. This was half way between the two so we went with this one for the total in the charts. Any the whole post will give you some indication around the numbers per year. 

Leofinance is an important part of the Hive blockchain and we may be best to remember they are growing and getting larger and larger. I hope they do well transacting on more chains as every boat rises with the tide and they are onboarding daily. Their latest signup was yesterday 	
@edelvyslizano and they signed up 4 yesterday in total. Leofinance is becoming a success story just like Splinterland's did. Supporting them would be the wise move here.

So with only 8 brave souls left there was a tricky week for selections among the remaining contestants. @teofilex played his trump card which was Liverpool in the derby against Everton so he was the first to get through to Week 6. @jmehta then followed later on as the only contestant in the Saturday afternoon fixtures with Crystal Palaces win over the hapless hammers. All eyes then switched to Sunday as 2 had Villa & Bournemouth. But before this @nathen007 picked Fulham. @nathen007 estatic over Leed's 3-1 win away at Mollenuex was equally at estatic at 10pm Saturday night when Fulham hammered Brentford 3-1 when we turned off the lights in Last Man Standing head quarters we had 3 people into the next round already. It seemed like a normal old week 5 where contestants would sail through like a US admiral in the Red Sea, 
Roll on Sunday where @amirtheawesome1 and @doombot75 went for Villa.

Hello and welcome to the Hive Ryder Cup Contest 2025. We have a great competition lined up for you for the 45th Ryder Cup that commences on 26th September 2025 at Farmingdale, New York , USA. This contest is free to enter and there will be daily prizes over the course of the 3 days. For those of you who are not into golf , there is an explanation of the various Ryder Cup formats below so why not make a few selections and just partake for a bit of fun and interaction. 

## What is the Ryder Cup?
It's only the best golf tournament in the world. Europes best golfers battle it out against Americas best golfers in a 3 day event that begins on Friday morning and concludes on Sunday 28th September. It is a match play event and it only happens every two years. Europe are the current Ryder Cup holders but they have to go to American soil in order to defend it and predictions are that it will be a hostile atmosphere at Bethpage. But historically it is well reported that the Europeans are better as a team than the Americans but the event is now in their back yard and they are eager to take revenge on what happened two years ago in Italy. Over the last 5 Ryder Cups the home team has never lost yet so pressure is on. 



## Match Formats.
**Friday morning -26th September - 4 x Foursomes**
**Friday afternoon -26th September - 4 x Fourballs**

**Saturday morning -27th September - 4 x Foursomes**
**Saturday afternoon -27th September -4 x Fourballs**

**Sunday - 28th September - 12 x Singles matches that will decide the Ryder Cup**

**Total matches = 28 matches over 3 days** 

## Below is an explanation of the 3 different playing formats that will be played at the Ryder Cup. 

**Foursomes Rules** : Two partners share one ball and take alternating shots and alternating who tees off on each hole. The team who completes the hole in the fewer shots wins. 

**Fourball Rules** : Two partners on each team plays their own ball throughout the round and the teams score is the lowest of the two partners scores on a hole. The team who completes the hole in the fewer shots wins. 

**Singles Match Play**: Two opponents compete hole by hole with the winner being the one who completes the hole in fewer shots.

I was going through @themarkymark's excellent new tool called Hive Analytics and the Valueplan payouts were naturally where I ended up. I was aware how much is being spent on the Rally car for a while now but seeing it in (dark mode) , it still kind of shocked me. $397,773.34 in total. And we moaned and whinged so much about the ninja mine while we were all on Steem only to now be fluttering away the sister fund on Hive and not batting an eyelid.

We are told we are tapping into the motorsport market that has billions of viewers around the world. Now I am pretty sporty and I watch a bit of Formula 1 but the only guy I know who is into rally cars is my barber. It's kind of a niche sport. One for the proper motor heads. The barber would go home and have his dinner and then spend his night with a spanner under the hood of his 1988 Fort Escort tweaking this and that, taking the engine out and putting it back again, getting it ready for his next big event where he would likely finish last or second last. One thing he wouldn't do is open a laptop and go onto a crypto blog site. To think this rally car will bring people to a blockchain is madness. But the chains main stakeholders are coders. A rare breed. Don't like sunlight. So in the unlikely event of the "Make a Wish Foundation" rally car does attract a new user where are they going to head for? Where would my barber head for? Yes the Rally Community to see more rally cars because this is their thing.

So our $397,773 went on attracting 353 subscribers to which 4 are active and one of them is the driver. 🤣. You have to laugh. Being plagued by a BeeGee. This got me thinking about the other Communities and active users. 
**What Communities are thriving?** 
**Which Community have retained their user base and are still active on hive?** 

Did you know there are over 4,000 Communities on Hive. That's alot. So I just listed the top 100 most active. This is the first time I wrote a script in python to retrieve the Hive data. I am very proud of myself. Below is data taken from 18.09.2025. Now the rank is not ranked by total subscribers. Most have left. I am looking at the active users. Now before we go into the detail I will point out that I am all for Communities getting DHF funding to grow on Hive. I would much prefer this than giving money to individuals and watch them walk away into the night. But are the most active communities getting the funding? Lets have a look.

# Summary
So the stats above tell us that the @leofinance Community is well are truly the number 1 Community on the Hive Blockchain with 758 active users which is impressive. Some of these users are of course micro bloggers but this is the way the world is going and they looked to have adapted. Well done to them for attracting users to Hive. Leo did submit a DHF proposal of their own to onboard new users and which was passed and they received a total of around $231,238 to do it. It looks like the plan worked as it is indeed the top community. 

It surprised me that @actifit were number 2 with 588 subscribers. I have always thought @actifit are onto something here with their sports project and getting paid to do a run would blow Strava out of the water. Maybe it is time we embrace it rather than calling them shitposts all the time (myself included). Actifit also got funding from the DHF which adds up to a total of $129,418. Compare them to Leo and it looks like this funding worked as well. 

@ecency is in number 3 spot with 472 active users and a really well known mod group that are very active in their community. It is also the best mobile platform by a long shot on Hive. I use it daily and it is excellent. They received so far $627,072 from the DHF fund. If I was to recommend any platform to post on it probably would be them or Peakd so I would have no major problem with these guys getting funding to keep their platforms fresh and clean and well maintained. Now 627k may be pushing it but I am not sure when the funding started etc so it may be over a long period. 


@worldmappin is in 4th spot with 425 his excellent Community which has some of the most interesting posts we have on Hive and it has given me a few holiday ideas. It gets a small pot from the DHF but compared to the rest it is a drop in the ocean with funding of around 17k so far. 

It is interesting that @snaps has more active users than subscribers. Are Hive users mixing them up with the new kid on the block @snapie or do they just use the Peakd extension and not subscribe. I am not sure. Anyway 288 subscribers with 410 active users. I presume @snaps is funded from the peakd DHF funding pot. 

We have the Photography lovers Community in at number 6 , Liketu at number 7,and the popular Community GEMS at number 8, Lifestyle and Hive Learners make up the top 10. We also see new microblogging @snapie making an appearance in the top 100 after the successful launch of their ios app. You can see yourself the top 100. At 61st for example we go under Communities with 100 active users. I voted for @snapie in the DHF funding proposal and it looks like they are way ahead of what they have promised with a nice clean platform. 

The Communities receiving funding have more active users obviously. Correct me if I am wrong but is Photography Lovers at number 6 the first Community on the list not to be funded in some kind by the DHF? Maybe someone could get back to me around this? It could be that their community owners are getting some kind of funding but I am not aware. 

I was surprised that @splinterlands has 12,759 subscribers but are not even in the top 10 active users. They have 264 active users ranked in 11th place. This used to be or could have been Hive's golden goose. It still should be in a way but Rexy has long since left the building and was replaced by a Ford Focus as the face of Hive. There was holy war last year when Splinterlands applied for DHF funding only to not get over the line initially. Having finally got over the return proposal for funding they have received 415,623 HBD from the DHF pot ,one can now see both sides of the debate about giving funding to a game linked to Hive but not really active on Hive anymore. 

@ladiesofhive are only 11 active users behind Splinterlands for example which is a credit to their Community. I think the @ladiesofhive has the most potential for growth out of all the Communities. Now this is an Community that has so much upside potential. 

Compare this to the SWC Community which is the GYM Street Workout cabal earning an all time total of $194,058.03 from Valueplan. Add this to their old Valueplan funded account @marscrea $160.124.42 and we get total funding of $354,182.45. This makes it the 2nd most funded project by Valueplan. The SWC Community sit in 73rd place in the active users Community with 80 active users. And you wonder why people are asking questions about Valueplan. SWC should be applying for DHF funding like the other Communities. Why are they so special? It screams "jobs for the boys". In fairness to the Vibes Community which is still relatively new compared to the others are in a respectable 17th place. Vibes is a music competition initiative it has attracted over 5,000 subscribers and has 201 active users . They have received 55,900 HBD to help with their prize fund of 1100 HBD per week. Now that they are established maybe it is time to draft their own DHF proposal like Leofinance, Actifit, Splinterlands and Worldmapping so they are not under the shady Valueplan umbrella anymore. They have some major backers in their post rewards so it should get through easily enough. 

Just to put things in perspective. There are 285 Communities ahead of the Rally Community in terms of active users. I had thought actually it would be further down the list of 4000 Communities. 
In fact there are only 478 active Communities with more than 0 active users. Rank 479 and below have 0 active users which means 3,638 are empty vessels. 

 Overall with the amount of funding for some of these Communities, the figures are still stark . I was surprised how little active users they actually are on Hive. . I did an exercise the other day looking at accounts to follow who are actively posting. I wanted to check who some of my active buddies were following to see if I am missing out on some good posts. Seeing that @meesterboom hasn't posted about El Jefe in a while, I had to go and get my fix elsewhere. But there wasn't many that I was already following. We are a pretty small group of individuals on Hive and most names by now ring a bell which is why I wanted to do this exercise in the first place. Microblogging is most likely the future so funding the likes of @snapie and @snaps makes sense. For some of the others it does not make sense and hopefully some Communities will see from above that they have a good argument to apply for their own funding to increase their users. 

I told @themarkymark yesterday that I read a stat recently that a major retailer lost an average of $60 to the average shoplifter. But they lost $60,000 on average to dishonest employees. It looks like the witnesses have the external scambots and shit posters under control by downvotes but it is now imperative that they look into some of the DHF funding and argue it out.

Hello and welcome to week 4 of Blanchy's post of the week where I go about curating posts what haven't quite hit the dizzy heights of the same payout as a white middle class western male post on Hive. We have had many varying posts of the week starting off with "Cleaning the Toilet" in week 1 to displaying fruits at different angles from @nana-hive in week 2. Last week we curated a post from a Chinese man who wanted to get out of a military exercise and as eagled eye  @valued-customer pointed out , he obtained liquid morphine from his Chinese pharmacy and probably spent the rest of his day off his head on cloud 9. Get me to China!! 
Anyway we move onto week 4 and we are looking at more of a statistic post than for all you number crunchers on Hive. The most is entitled 
**Why Many Young Adults, Especially Men Are Single and Sexless**

The post comes from an author called @kur8 who would post regularly enough. The post is currently on 6 cent.  
The title of the post immediately attracted me into the post where the author explains how many young adults mainly men are not getting the ride. 

Now to clear things up from the title before you @ me,  some of the woke-ier individuals could have taken the author up the wrong way when he states "sexless" in the title. @oldsoulnewb  had read from the title that the post was about Eunich's and decided to move on from it. Like a Ken Doll for example but no. This is not the case. The author means that young adults are single and sexually frustrated (with the adequate genitalia to partake in sexual activity if the situation arisen)

The post adds , as us skilled in the English language describes as a certain personification. A beautiful photo of a young male alone at the beach under a tree looking out into the dark blue moonlight. I presume this is an example of a sexless man under the tree otherwise it would be a photo of him in bed smiling smoking a cigarette.

The image is strong with blue being the predominant color. The young man sitting down is melancholy or feeling blue I would imagine. He probably has a certain blue movie on his mind. He more than likely has the famous sexless ailment also known in the west as blue balls for example such is his thirst. I love the way the author captures this in the photo.  No sign of one of his hands either which is a bit unsettling but expertly done and discreet by the author. Excellent work @kur8 with the colour blue indicating sexless in men where as we all consider a sexless females colour to be red.  He even describes the image.

Fabulous.  I sometimes find a tree at a beach myself in the nighttime and wonder why I am not getting any. I know what is in your mind "He ain't gonna get his hole if he's sitting alone under a tree". But maybe this photo is after he tried every possible outlet! It could be after a night out on the prowl. So if the girls see a broke ass asking them on a date, they tell them to feck off.  Excellent reporting @kul8. 

Ok what else did they find out from the study?

There are two factors to break down here. That the lads are too busy playing video games to be interested in sex. Slight comparisons to the black and white pandas that just couldn't be arsed to reproduce anymore, preferring to sleep and eat bamboo, so they nearly extinct themselves.  It is not surprising. But for someone that has played Call of Duty or one of those games, I think  a sniper rifle shot taking an enemy player out from a distance, is a mini orgasm. 

The decrease in alcohol ...... Now there is definitely a good point here. Young people of today will never wake up in the morning and wonder who is beside them in the bed. They will never get so drunk that they end up running naked through a fountain and ending up with an ugly bloke. Which leads me onto the ugly blokes. Back in my day the ugly bloke had a chance. Now they have no chance. So in summary young women aren't getting shitfaced anymore so are not making any mistakes in the who they have sex with department. I will also put it to you that ugly women are more picky than ugly men but a study like this is very hard gather data on. I tried to interview a few "butter faces" once but I got punched in the face by both genders and ended up in hospital.

Ok what is the other 25%? So video games , booze, lack of money which coincides with less romantic connections is accounting for 75%. I presume the rest is ones pulling of ones own plum, ones choking of ones own chicken, manual overides, marching the penguin, polishing the banister, beating the meat, oozing your noodle, spanking the monkey and so on and so forth. The author however does not expand on this.

But how are they disproportionately affecting men? I don't get it. Does this mean that all women (good looking and ugly) are just dating lots of men that are financially secure and do not play video games  which leaves the men that play video games all day and don't have a job sexless. This also employs that men who have money and do not play videogames have a massively high body count. If you are one of these guys you are probably getting more action than Mick Jagger or Julio Iglesias. 
In fairness if I was a lovely lady I would find a man who can't afford a new underpants playing videogames irresistible myself.   

So in summary men if you want to have sex, put down the Playstation controller and get a job you bums and stop sitting under a tree crying about not getting any.

Blanchy's Curation Corner: Post of the Week #4 Sexless Men

I mentioned around a month a go I made my own website called Tipster Arena [here](https://peakd.com/sports/@blanchy/tipster-arena-the-new-site-one-week-in) and the various challenges I had with this. I spent months focusing little parts of the website such as fetching fixtures by scraping websites which is difficult and affects performance. Then I made a decision one day to not focus on this. The likes of livescore and PGA Golf Leaderboards can just do all this for me so I just provided the link but after 6 months of adding things in and taking stuff out, adding workers, taking away workers, adding Docker and figuring out this, my website ended up being clunky. I had wrote it in Django with Python , Javascript for some of the mechanics. I also used Nginx, Daphne, Redis , Cronjob, Vite , Django Vite. You name it , I bloody tried it. I had built the website in html and CSS and spent ages getting margins set up and it was all a pain in the arse really. In the end I had 10,000 lines of CSS. redundant code and a buggy website. The auth section was set up by myself from scratch using a django authorisation suite but I did not know at the time that there were such systems like Firebase or Clerk. 
I was also looking at a website building site like Aura.build and liked some of the template designs that looked very modern indeed. I also was following a dev that swore by CSS Tailwind which would solve the whole what class is for what button etc. I also heard React and Next.js were the flavour of the month and was so much easier to program with so off I went again. Trying to with my best friend Cursor AI. I had made the mistakes of the past so it wasn't long before I had a functioning website again. 
For some reason with the likes of Chat GPT and Grok as well as Claude , they seem to have more of a grasp on React than any other programming language with the exception of python in my opinion. I also changed the colour scheme somewhat as my daughter asked me why a man up town had a Tipster Arena shopping bag only to realise it was a Sports Direct logo. Bloody hell. 

I decided to change the website now because I still had bearly any users. Most being Hive people but I had one guy who is really into it that is a genuine user who posts tips every day. I did up a couple of posts on TikTok and one of them got 15,000 views so there is a market there for it but I needed to have the landing page with that bit more quality.

The whole idea of the website is for the sports community to come together and share tips and value . The idea came to me when I was on a popular sports tipping patreon page where everybody hated the tipster who would only tip favourites. The Community stuck around because there were a couple of guys in the group that were leaving tips in the chat and everyone was winning all around them. They soon got booted out because the customers would become the tipsters themselves and this is what this site os for. The big boys will have to prove they are good.

This is now wiped and he will have to sign up again. Sorry Buddy. But the good news is that if this takes off , he's the head of football and cricket. 😃 . But I think you all will agree it is much more of a professional grade website.

Spurs played West Ham at 5.30 on a Saturday night so I made everyone in the house aware that I was heading out for it. I had agreed with a West Ham supporter to meet up for the match a few weeks ago. It's their cup final and he is never long about texting me when Spurs lose. West Ham supporters are terrible people who would prefer to see Spurs lose than ever even supporting their own team. The fact is that Spurs fans don't really care about West Ham. We just think they all belong in caravans. Anyway the friend of mine went dark around Wednesday and I knew what was coming. I knew he would be dodging our little man date. I was so confident that I actually arranged to meet a couple of Spurs supporters in another pub for the game. The town council decided to put a bus stop 10 metres from my house and decided to put another 20  ten meters from my local pub. I counted my steps going their on Saturday and I was from my house to the pub in 35 steps. 😃. Anyway on the bus I saw the line up.

Hmmmmmm another strange one. Tel through the Centre is a strange one. The attacker would usually play on the left. Frank left him out of the Champions League squad last week so I would say the player is low in confidence and this was an olive branch to show the manager what he could do. The manager also has a match this Tuesday in the Champions League so squad management us crucial. 

Simons on the left for his debut was another interesting one. We still don't know what this guy can do but the talk from Leibzig is that he is good when he wants to be good which is a slight worry. 

The bus stopped outside the pub and I hopped in the door and joined the rest of the Spurs lads. West Ham person text me to say he couldn't make it. I knew he wouldn't. The first half was a funny one. West Ham had some chances and Tel looked lost up top. Simons was spiritly but some Communication issues and positioning issues , you knew he was still getting the hang of the Spurs formation. 
The match started and West Ham looked to be the better side but then again Spurs were not really threatened. Back under Ange my heart would be in my mouth whenever a team attack, With Frank the defence looks solid. Romero scored a header but it was disallowed because Van Der Ven pushed a West Ham player. The funny thing was that the West Ham goal keeper actually pushed Van Der Ven so it was not a penalty but I won't moan about it. The referee was shocking in this game. 
Second half started and you could see Frank pushed Bergvall a bit further forward tweaking here and there and within a couple of minutes . Sarr with a header. It was a weird one because there were 6 West Ham players on the front post. Sarr at the back post and nobody marking him . 1 nil Spurs. 

West Ham midfielder then got a straight red for a terrible tackle on Palinha. Straight red. 
Tottenham then started to pull away and ten minutes later Romero saw Bervall make a signal and passed a lowly high ball into the Swede. Bervall saw the keeper come off his line and hit a lobbing header over the goalkeeper for his first Premiership goal. What a talent this guy will be and hes only 19. 2-0 Spurs. 
West Ham fans started leaving to the chants of "Is there a fire drill?" which made me chuckle. 
Tel came into the game more and chased every ball. There may be a player in him yet. Don't forget that Djed Spence was left out of the Europa League squad last season and look at him now. 
Van Der Ven scored the third when the second ball came out to him and it was a classic Micky goal. 
The game was over and Spurs went into 2nd place. having won 3 games in 4 matches. Great start from Thomas Frank and a great comeback win after Bournemouth two weeks ago. 

Liverpool won their game Sunday which saw Spurs drop to 3rd place but it is great to be up there. Frank has now more clean sheets this season after 4 matches than Ange did all year. Now this is not a criticism of Ange. Defending wasn't his priority whereas Frank is more balanced. I think every Spurs fan has been happy with his manager and his approach this year. I am really encouraged by him and the players all like him as well. So Spurs play Vila Real tomorrow night and have Brighton away on Saturday. The games will be coming in thick and fast from now on but for the first time in ages I think Spurs have a squad to handle it. The youth playing on Saturday was crazy and even Archie Gray was left out of the squad last week and he is fit. 

The future is looking bright.

Paul Scholes described Gkokeres as like a fella playing in a pair of jeans which made me spit out my coffee. Every time this guy scores I get a text off an Arsenal supporter doing his batman celebration. It's ridiculous. I was at the park with the kids on Saturday. Phone goes off and heres your man doing the batman sign. FML, So I'm just gonna put them on a blockchain to show everyone how silly 50 year olds can be. 😂

Another Win On The Board Propels Spurs into 3rd Place 

It's past midnight here in Adelaide, South Australia - and I've just achieved one of my life long goals. I never really knew it as a life long goal, but the last few months on HIVE have seen me dedicate an enormous amount of time to writing, engaging with the community, and making some new friends. I believe in decentralisation of HIVE. I believe in having custody and ownership of your own stuff. 

My witness node is located in my home, in Sunny South Australia. It is connected to the Internet using Fibre, and is connected to Electricity via Solar Panels and a battery. My power usage is so low at home, as a result, I am basically off-grid when it comes to power. 

It is a server I **own**, one I can touch. One I can source replacement parts for if it dies, and one that I can turn a screw driver on if I have to.

I'm a *bit* of a nerd, can read documentation, and am a bit of a bulldozer when it comes solving problems. I don't like giving up. 

My posting on hive is pretty varied, owing to my varied interests outside of posting to HIVE, so you are likely to see fiction, photography, game, book and film / tv reviews, as well as unhinged, heart-on-the-sleeve rambling. 

My core belief is that **content** can bring value to HIVE. That we are a place where compelling human stories can be told without censorship, and reach a wide audience. My belief is that creatives will create things because they are compelled to do so, and will do it in lieu of the presence of any reward, because the reward is the process of creating itself.

My goal as a witness is to support original content creators, who use hive exclusively - through in depth comments, discussion, discourse, and manual votes. My secondary belief is that HIVE should be as decentralised as possible, which is why I love the fact that I now have a witness node operating in my own home - not in a data centre on leased hardware that I don't own.

I have made many friends here over the years, and have so many people to thank for keeping me locked into this place. Other than my prior employment, and my relationship with my family, and my wife - HIVE is the longest continuous engagement I have had in my life.

## The black  box with the red sticker is the computer hosting my witness node. This machine also serves other important functions in my life, and has a long up time.

I mentioned in a post last week that I unfollowed quite alot of people because they had not posted since 2024. There were a few names that stood out as witnesses who I kept following because I thought these guys are running the show so I don't want to miss out if they have anything important to say. I don't frequent Discord much but I know this is where most of the Hive governance takes place so I tuned into the witness town hall meeting on Wednesday to see if anything is coming down the tracks. This is the first meeting I have listened into since the Steem days and I was surprised just how quiet it was in there. There were more non-witnesses than witnesses but it wasn't like old times having 100 people listening. Many couldn't make it. That was fine. We all have lives to live. I only tuned in for a few minutes myself but the section I did hear was there were a couple of people bleating on that I have never heard of in my life before. I looked them up and one of them last posted in 2024 and haven't been seen on the blockchain all year. You would swear they were running the show the way they were going on. But maybe they are!

Now not many witnesses drop by my page. You should, I'm great craic, but the ones who do I vote for. You know who you are. For me the witness role is like that of a local election candidate. Vote for me please. Why? What are you going to do for me? If a witness interacts with the Hive Community I find that positive because they are in their constituency doing the work so to speak. They are present. Now I am not asking them to post daily , not even weekly but I do like to know if they have been around this year! What are they up to? What projects are they working on? When is the release date of your new game Lintersands? How did the conference go you were at? Was the meal nice? How many would you say you onboarded? Is this too much to ask? If they leave the blockchain then I can give some other Hive witness my vote and I say best of luck. Enjoy your life. No harm done.

2 of the 5 users who have not posted since the famine(irish reference) have commented this year including one fellow Irish man @liketu. How's she cutting? From the woods of Glenbower to the river Dissour and all that. You haven't posted since the Emergency(another irish reference)!! What's up?!

Can anyone check if @jesta is still with us? Or has he turned into the new Japanese new travel authentication system? Last post was in 2019 and he is still a coveted top 30 witness. 

Also @anyx last comment was 2 years ago. Have they left this world? As Murray once said on Flight of the Conchords. "They maybe did" . @anyx is 24th on the witness list. This raises a question about governance. Sometimes people tend to not change their votes so does this mean we will have ghost witnesses running Hive?? Long John Silver buried with all his HP. Cleopatra buried with her crown and gold? How does Hive handle a witnesses that has not been around for a long time if they have a large vote to make it top 30. We could be all sitting at a table with ghosts. I would not be a happy camper to be witness number 25 with a few ghosts ahead of me. What did you say? Actifit is witness number 25? Forget I said anything 🤣😜 but the point still stands. Only joking Mr tifit.

It's funny. I was under the impression @someguy123 was always around but you learn something new every day. Now I remember last year there was a big debate about the role of a witness. Some think their sole job is to secure blocks so you can go run and jump if they think I'm gonna do one of them post things for our blogging platform.

 *"Wash your dirty stinking mouth out @blanchy, I've a button to style in CSS tailwind this month, you bum".* 

Some like me think they should be present and a major part of the Community. This is why Witnesses point out what projects they are working on which is good. But I doubt the consensus is happy with them not being near the blockchain for 5 bloody years. 
Is there not a responsibility on the Hive user to make sure that the witnesses are present and correct? I would have thought so. Especially witnesses voting witnesses , I would have thought there would be even more of a responsibility to do so. 

Anyway this part is very important and we are coming to the end of yet another controversial but factual post. Can every witness that reads this post upvote it 100% please so I can tick you off as still being present on the blockchain and not dead. No exceptions, this is very important. It will be like a consensus of such that we will do every year. Thank you very much.

Welcome to Blanchy's post of the week. The curation corner where I go in search of posts that live up to the high standards and quality that we at Hive are proud of. This is the 3rd week of my curation corner and it has been very successful. I have not been downvoted once. Now I have focused on the English language over the last couple of posts of the week but I found a post this week in Cantonise. But @blanchy you don't a speak-a the chinese-a I will hear you say . Oh I beg to differ. In rural Ireland we have many chinese restaurants so i have picked up some words along the way. @blanchy, unlike the spendHBD lackies likes to put a bit of effort into his posts for the good of Hive and a full translation will be offered. 

Before I go further, I will issue you with a warning for this post of the week. It is like no other and is littered with danger and intrigue. It is from China from a little known Hiver called @jaychoumjs.  I was scrolling through shit posts minding my own business when this posts title image dragged me in hook line and sinker. It is the best use of an image I have ever seen on Hive in all my days.  The photo was of a man who looked , how can we put it , Mona Lisa glum. So lets see why our author looked sad with pain in his eyes.

## The Title is September 10th, the 10th day of military training.

For all you uneducated slack jaw yokels that cannot read Cantonise , I will give you the translation. 
Now at first I was under the impression that our author got a slap off in the face from someone and this is why he looked so glum but this was not the problem.
So the author begins by saying it is National Teachers Day today and it was a special day as people celebrated the day in China so there were lots of chat messages going around about the parades and marches going on that day.  But the author also mentions it is also his 10th straight day of military training. 

A-ha, the plot does thicken!!! 

Now I have been watching the Western news lately and I have seeing China is going all out to tell the world they are a force to be reckoned with and large military parades are being held in the country. This person is a part of this so I was intrigued to know how this military training is going. He doesn't look happy about it thats for sure.

*During military training they were made march and the colonels were not happy with their marching so they made them march for 2 hours and they were all wrecked tired.*

OK Ok I get why the author is a bit sad now. But 2 hours is not too bad in fairness. The chinese are tough. No woke mind virus there. Those guys could march all day standing on their head. There is more behind this glum face of his.    We read on with anticipation.

*A few days ago, when I was playing basketball, someone stepped on my foot, and then the toenail on my thumb turned purple. It loosened last night, so I went to check it out at noon today. I made an appointment, and the doctor said that it would be removed in the afternoon. I went to the hospital at noon, and then it was gone. I had lunch, and then went back to the dormitory and slept at noon. In the afternoon, I asked the instructor for leave, and then went to the hospital in the afternoon to remove the toenail.*

Ahhhhhhh Finally the source of the glumness is evident. The classic case of toenail pain. Finally the case of the miserable face in the title. If anyone has ever had a toe nail faux pas then you would understand the misery of the author. And this is after the bloody 2 hour march. Fuck me. Ok ok so he is at the hospital and the doctor is gonna have a look at this toe nail. Lets see what happens.

*After waiting for a while, he finally let me pull it out and gave me a lot of anesthetic. It was very painful when the anesthetic was given, and I almost cried. I endured it for a while, and then he pulled it out. He gave me an explosion, and then I went back to the dormitory to rest.*

So the doctor had to remove the toe nail and the pain was excruciating . Good Lorrrrddd. The author mentions the doctor gave him anesthetic but it does not mention if it was before our after the toe nail rip off.  In fairness the doctor did a good job bandaging up that big toe. I don't know what it is about big toes images that always compel me to make shortlist  this post for blanchys post of the week. 
There have many many toe photos on Hive and it is very surprising just how much when you go looking. We should onboard a few foot fetish sex people onto hive. They would love it.  And considering I didn't go with the toe posts over the last 2 week I went with my instincts on this week and went with the toe post. You are welcome. To the authors credit , his toes are not in that bad of condition. The posts I have seen where their toes are a holy disgrace. Here's one and the author of that post even fucking put his Hive name in the picture.

Anyway we continue.

I couldn't continue training because of the bandage. I didn't participate in the military training for the next few days. In fact, it was not bad. The intensity of military training was quite high. The sun was also very strong these two days. I couldn't stand it. I will sit in the shade tomorrow and watch their military training.*

Every cloud has a silver lining and the injured toe has meant that our author is pardoned from doing anymore military training. He mentions that the intensity of the training was quite high and it was very hot so he said he will watch the training from the sidelines tomorrow. He also mentions his toe wasn't that bad. 

Now as you are aware from my DHF post. I am a natural cynic and this turned this post upside down for me. 
I have many questions here and it leads me to believe this is a classic case of pulling a sickie!!!

 Was the glum face put on?
 Was the author secretly delighted?

Our author watches from the sidelines with his toe resting on a chair while his friends and colleagues march up and down in the baking sun giving him the evil eyes when they see him eating an ice cream. 

Is he gloating? 
Is the big toe a big fuck you to the military? 

The fact that the author speaks aboout military training at length rather than just his big toes gives me reason to believe that the two are linked. 
What I liked about this post is that it keeps the author guessing. He endures the pain of having his toe nail removed but experiences the bliss of not having to march for hours in the baking sun. His title image is one of pain and sadness but is it a sadness that has delightful undertones. Was this a classic case getting your toe nail pulled off to get out of work?? I can think of less painful things to do in order to get out of work but who knows in China , a toe nail extract may be the minimum requirement to get out of a military exercise. The common cold just would not be enough so the old toe nail trick could do the job. 

But we do not see the toe nail pre post you say. The author counteracts this with a percription and some tablets to indeed show the Hive user that this is indeed a medical issue.

I have messaged the author to get back to me on his his toes current condition and sent him an HBI for winning the post of the week. Now unlike the two posts from week 1 and 2 which were upvoted more. Now as I sent in my two recent posts , if i find that this is a 10/10 post I will personnally contact appreciator and urge them to give you a 100% vote which is worth around 60 quid. But unfortunately this week I can only give this post an 9/10. The reason for this is I was contacted by an anonymous source saying that the author could have easily marched and instead he sat there eating ice cream while writing his Hive post while the others suffered. Blanchy does not condone these actions so I had to knock off a point in this regard but 9/10 is still a great score. The title of this post may be a bit late. I have officially been a dad for 9 years this September and a second time 5 years last August but this week really showed that I was indeed a dad dad. When I say this I think of my own dad who when asked if he knew what class I was in at school , he would always get it wrong. He would always know the price of a pint however.  My daughter came home from school and asked me what things meant. Now this was not an academic question. It was more of a trending viral social media question and for the first time ever I did not know a single thing she was harping on about so I had to say "I am not sure"  

## DE DE DAHHHHHHHHHHHH

How did this become of me. I used to be down with the cool people and down with the homies. But now these different questions were being asked of me and I was not uptodate with the latest viral sensations. I no longer frequeent Facebook , Instagram or any of them social medias. TikTok every now and then when someone sends me a link but overall I am off social media. I asked @bozz the other day what won of them meant but he is an auld fella as well so he told me to feck off. 🤣
Even after looking a few of these things up , I am still none the wiser about what this things are. So I shall put it to Hive so us auld fellas can piece together what some of these things mean. I will give my perception of the viral subject and if you have any opinions then blurt them out! (No pun intended on the blurt comment)

## Ok lets start 

**Child saying Ohio all the time**
**Example "That guy fell off his bike, Ohio. hahahahahahhaha"**

So I did a bit of research. Ohio is the state in America who every other state takes the piss out of because bizarre and weird things happen. A bit like the Paddy Englishman , Paddy Irishman and Paddy Scotsman jokes in my day. So if anything funny happens in school where a teacher slips and falls into an open wheelie bin and then the wheelie bin takes off down the road and a horse then kicks the wheelie bin and the bin ends up in a bramble bush. This is an Ohio moment. 

**Italian Brain Rot**
**Example :"That's Italian Brain Rot"**
Some internet meme of some kind that is viral on TikTok with these odd shaped characters and just a genuine head melt for me anyway. Not sure why these things are big. They give me nightmares. 

**POV** 
**Example: "POV teacher: Stop chatting, do your homework"**
I've seen POV before but in different areas. I didn't think my 9 year old would start saying it whenever she is talking about someone else. I'm a bit creeped by it"

**Jet 2 Holiday**
**Example: Something funny happens and the kids sing the jet2holiday song**
Still don't have a clue what this is about. Tik Tok viral sensation about the jet 2 holiday music being dupped on funny things happening I think but when I looked it up on Tik Tok I got a load of inuendo videos that were very concerning.   

**6/7**
**Example: just people randomly shouting 6/7**
This is a strange one because even after I looked it up I am still non the wiser. It is meant come out of a song by a rapper Skrilla who mentions 6/7 in a song. Now this is about a basketball players height for all I can listen to it"
Some other sources say it is about the 6/7 joke which is "Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because 7,8,9. 
My daughter mentioned 6 ,7 in a maths question so all the boys just kept saying 6,7 to her so her head was melted. I was a bit concerned by this and asked her does anyone bully her. Her answer was that the bullys don't come near her because she puts on the waterworks if they do so this scares them. She then started laughing and mimicked starting to cry which looked very real.  Absolute genius tactics from the eldest. She went on and said she does this to me in board games so I go easy on her which came as a big surprise. She is after winning 3 from 3 in adult Catan against us so the feeling sorry for her because she is 9 has now been stopped.

So those are a few examples . You also have the ones from Fortnight and the other day I asked my daughter what her group name was and she said the boys called the team "Entity".  
En- ti - fucking - ty???? What is this ?? The Apprentice. But no apparently it is fortnight. Which makes me thing what parents are letting their 9 year old kids play fortnight. I was reading a couple of @tarazkp posts about this sort of thing as he has a smallie as well and what protection he has in place for this sort of thing. I am delighted my daughter is asking me about these things as I know she is not on these platforms herself but it is concerning who IS watching them to come to school and copy these viral things on social media. Which makes me think I would much prefer my daughter to be on a platform like this than on TikTok. So some of these platforms that are being built such as Snaps may actually have a niche market for Hive to focus on. 

I was on a flight a few months ago to the UK and there was this young girl beside me. Probably 18 or 19. She spent the whole 1 and a half hour flight zooming in on a photo of herself. Fixing little blemishes and  zooming back out again. She was at it the whole flight trying to make herself perfect before she published her post. I was in shock. The pressure these teens are under to look like a supermodel is crazy. I kind of felt sorry for this generation. In my day mobile phones were just coming out and the Nokia 3210 came out when I was 16 for example. Camera phones didn't arrive until I was finished college. No evidence which was great. You can't do anything now without people taking a video of you. It takes away from a night in my opinion. The closest I used to come to this was the annoying lad that told you everything stupid you did last night but I soon got rid of these bozos from my life. 
Before a work Christmas party some of the  younger staff were talking themselves up to getting wasted at the party. I was thinking "Here we go". I'm gonna have to break into the emergency fund with the cost of the drink for the night. I got the 3 young ones 3 drinks. 1 got a whiskey sour, another got a gin and tonic and one more got a neat jamesons. All very trendy and cool. But instead of drinking them they just took photos of them. It took an hour and a half to get through the whiskey sour, The gin wasn't touched and the girl who asked for the neat Jamesons disgarded it in a plant beside her seat. I think I spent €20 on them the whole night. Meanwhile the old timers were swamping the Guinness having not mentioned anything about getting wrecked. Now I have no problems with the young ones not drinking but it just shows you that the drinking culture is well and truly replaced by the GYM culture in Ireland. Nobody is getting hammered anymore, people are not letting themselves go or blow off any steam either which is actually a negative thing. They will never really and truly have the same craic as we did when we were their age. 

I remember in my 20s when I went on holidays with my friends and we were all hungover in the sea, I think it was called Ladys Beach in Aiya Napa. We had a great night. One of the boys had lost a quad, another one had woken up in a house full of Chinese people with no English. Someone took home a duck  and we would up to quacking.Two other friends spent the night with bendy stays on the ear that looked like a security head set and were kicking random people out of the bars. Another friend pretended to be a saxophone player and when the band finally let him up to play, it was clear from the off that he never played a saxophone in his life.   That afternoon the sun was shining , we were in this clear water around in a circle talking about the night before and my friend Ken said to everyone. "I wonder if anyone in the world right now is having as much fun as we are" And I thought to myself that I had spent the whole holiday in tears laughing. There was no chance of that. The Irish really and truly have a better craic than any other nation. Maybe the Scots could contend or even the Welsh actually. They are all mad bastards. But the answer was definitely no. There was nobody on Earth having more fun than we were at that moment in time. I always remember those words because the new generation will never be as crazy and I kind of feel sorry for them. It wasn't their fault but I think technology has fucked them.

The blanchy family are a football (soccer for the American friends) dynasty in these parts. The Uncles were very good ballers and my father was decent as well. Left wingers. I dont want to brag but I wasn't the worse myself and still play twice a week. So this Sunday was a big day in the blanchy household as blanchy junior who turned 5 years old is now eligible to join the local football club which is decorated in family photos and has formed the background. The only problem is that it begins at 10am so no more lazy Sunday mornings for me anymore as I navigate the murky world of kids football.

Over the last few years every sport is on the table for youngsters to take up. Football , rugby and GAA which is Gaelic Games . Now back in my day the GAA had control of the sports in schools so young people like myself could not play soccer which really hindered our development. The GAA were against foreign sports coming into Ireland such as soccer and rugby and did everything in their power to stop kids joining up such as giving them an ultimatum. Pick either or but not both. But my father stuck two fingers up at the GAA and himself and a few football people purchased a football field for 60,000 pound in the early 90s and the club never looked back. You wouldn't buy the land for €2 million now. Now the club has an under 7s all the way up a junior football and also have a ladies team and ladies underage team as well. The club won the FAI cup in 1994 which is the best junior team in Ireland and it was my fathers proudest moment as he was the chairman. Before that he was the manager and before that he played.

Now us blanchys are famous for our left foot and there were times I have only ever witnessed the little man play with his right foot so there were murmurs the child was not mine but lone behold we went to his first training session there and the left leg started being used. Better than any DNA test.

I asked one of the other parents should he be wearing boots at the start and I got a yes so there was a big panic yesterday bringing him down to get boots in his size and ended up dropping €80 on boots , socks , shorts and a training top but in fairness he looked the part going off this morning. 



The little guy is always quite good mixing with other kids. He just starts by hanging around the outskirts of a gang and he then circles into the centre. I have to say it is impressive.

Anyway I stood around for an hour with some of the other parents have the chats which was great and the hour flew by. There is something about getting up early on a Sunday. The days of getting wrecked on Saturday nights are well and truly and over the last few years I quite this Sunday morning malarky that I never witnessed in my 20s.

So the little lad had a great time and he said he wants to do it every week. Thats great because I want to hear what Angela is going to do about her troublesome neighbours nd how Jimmy gets on with his new 6 berth motorhome. I shall not made the same mistake again and grab a coffee next time around. I was an amateur parent for the first time.

I see some parents shouting and roaring on the side lines putting their kids under pressure. I remember seeing Messi and Suarez sitting in the stands at their own kids football training just having the chats leaving it to the coaches who were probably under pressure with the best player to have ever played the game watching on. If the two best players in the world are sitting back relaxing then I'm gonna do the same. If he becomes a star then great once he enjoys himself. Thats the main thing. I remember training being a bit more cut throat back in my day so I was a bit nervous for my little guy but he wasn’t nervous at all. Now his mothers side of the family are all famous hurlers that come from Ballyhale in Kilkenny so there's a bit of steel in him as well so maybe he will the the chosen one. Hurling is the next sport on the list but he's too young to get a slap of a hurl yet because there is also more skill involved . Anyway this was my morning and who knows in a little while I think I might be training them as well but I will keep to the stands for the moment until I am asked.

When I am asked there is no doubt I will go all in and get my coaching badges and I will be discussing how best to defend against a 4-4-3 and stoping out who my Trequartista or Libero is going to be and I will start playing football. manager again. So that is my sublime Sunday. Hope you have a good one.

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of blanchy's post of the week where I curate a post I thinkl deserves more coverage.  I only curate the special posts here at chez @blanchy's curation corner and I like to focus on the people that don't get much traction. Last week we kicked things off with a post about a bloke cleaning his toilet. It was more of a step by step guide than anything else but it was beautifully written and I have to say. Now everyone in Africa is looking to go on a date with the toilet king. 
This week however, I found another gem. @blanchy whisks you out of the world of toilet cleaning curation and into the world of fruit colouring in. And before you say it I have already given @nana-hive 1 HBI for showcasing her post on blanchy's curation corner.

@nana-hive who has recently got out of photographing plants and got into "painting" is on fire this week with not 1 but 2 posts of the Mango Fruit.

@nana-hive I do love a nice mango but my nanny never gave me one because we had only apples in ireland when I was growing up. Mangos were considered too exotic and we were afraid of any voodoo fruit like bananas , kiwis or mangos until we finally got rid of the Catholic church but enough about my mango journey. This post is for your mango journey. You like mangos so much that you decided to *paint* one. I must admit it is pretty good.

Exceptional and to the point. Nana does not beat around the mango bush. Full marks so far.  The green and the yellow colours complement each other beautifully and Nana must have a really steady hand to *paint* the outline of the mango. Now first of all i thought nana wasn't happy with the pesky outside the lines with the yellow on 3 different occasions so she threw it away and redid it.

@nana-hive makes sure above that she lets people know to this type of painting takes a special kind of expertises by saying
 *"Not anyone has the ability to paint."* 
Nana shows great confidence here. No bullshit. I'm sure a few pretenders tried to colour in better than her and they got a clip around the ear and rightly so!!! You tell m nana. Don't go messing around in Nana's bin-nes. 

Nana also mentions that "while I was looking at the mangoes I just took photos of some of the mango paintings of all the Hive friend. But aren't they not the same picture but at different angles ya divil you.😂

 Now @nana-hive , as Mr Muscle learned cleaning his bog last week @blanchy does give marks against posts due to errors and I have to say that you were outside the lines on your *painting(s)* with the mango. One at the stem, the other 1/4 of the way down and the last one near the bottom so I have to take marks off this masterpiece this week so I will not be contacting accelerator unfortunately to give you an 100% upvote. I do apologies but rules are rules. 
 But what caught my eye were the last two photos and how you flipped the image using some sort of mirror filter. Bravo my friend brave. This must symbolise that the mango is indeed a versatile fruit that can be used in any sort of cooking from Indian to African to French salads.

Now wait this is not all. In a move only done before by Banksy while I was drafting up this post . @nana-hive published a new post. This one is entitled *"Photo of a painting of a mango fruit"* I never knew this would happen to me. I feel so lucky. Two for the price of 1.

I love the way nana switches the word painting in the title to tell the reader it's a different post entirely. I could see from the new post that nana reached out for the yellow marker again and started going over the whites. Now to the naked eye one may think it is a different mango but @blanchy always has a  jewelers eyepiece to hand in case this sort of thing arises and I can confirm it is the original mango painting but coloured in a bit more. *MIND BLOWN*. STOP THE COUNT STOP THE COUNT. 
It is clear that nana wants to use contrasting styles in both posts. The first post was a mango half baked. She used more angles in the new post to signify change in her life and posted not 4 , not 5 , not 6 but 10 photos of the mango at different angles. I am proud to say that I have now seen a picture of mango at 16 different angles.  This new post knocked me for six and I thought I had died and gone to heaven with a more coloured in mango. 
I knew nana was cooking something when she dropped the MS bomb 2 days ago. In case the hive reader is not aware because you are all pig ignorant, the MS bomb in Mango circles is a Mangosteen.

And for the rest of you philistines that still don't know what a Mangosteen is , here it is again but sideways.

Now you may think the mango steen is a better photo , because there is no colouring outside the lines. My 3 year old child for example liked the mangosteen more but if it was called @blanchy's 3 year old son's  curation corner then he could pick it but he can't. The mango is where the money is. 
She did a squirrel painting last week. But nana must have been on the Irish whiskey because the poor squirrels chest was brown as well.

but the squirrel at different angles looked in distress especially the horizontal angle. It looked more like a dying squirrel who had collected her last nut in the woods.

So my decision was my decision. The squirrel was nowhere near perfection where as the mango posts deserve it. The post of the week had to be the mango.
