The festive season has begun and every month there is something to celebrate on. Last month it was the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi and this month of September it is Navratri. Navratri is a 9 days festival which is celebrated to honor the divine feminine energy of Goddess Durga. In the word Navratri, the first half Nav stands for 9 and the second half ratri stands for night. Goddess Durga has 9 forms and each night is  in honor of  one form of Durga.

During these 9 days a lot of people observe fasting during the day time in the evening after breaking the fast there is a celebration, it's a night long affair. In India in the state of Gujarat, this festival is celebrated in the most elaborate way.  There is a folk dance called as Garba which is done in groups during the night time. Year on year this festival is getting grand. This festival basically signifies the victory of good over evil and is celebrated in different ways in different parts of India. Like in the west the celebration is done very differently with Durga Puja, In East it is done with Garba which is the cultural folk dance, in south and north it is different. But the end message is same, that there is always victory of good over the evil.

Here in Muscat also we have the 9 nights celebration of the festival, where anyone can join in and celebrate. On Thursday along with some friends I had gone to he venue.  The nights celebrations are themed in different colors. 

This is the venue that we went at. It was crowded but our group manage to find space and we had enough space to dance. There is a stage in one corner where the  music set up is done, there is live band who sing the Navratri special folk songs and we all do garba and dandiya dance on it.

Once in a year this is a good time to participate in these kind of celebrations. These are community gatherings where you get to connect with other people of the community and expand your contacts. The only drawback was it was extremely hot and within half an hour we were all drenched in sweat. Still we managed to stay for 2 hours and then left the venue.

Another Sublime Sunday... A day without concerts, but with music, the music I choose to accompany me through my headphones as I travel, looking out the window at the landscapes and reflecting on life, especially on the events of the last week. Right now, it seems like life has come to a standstill; since September began, it seems like nothing has changed. In fact, some things seem to be going backwards. But if I stop for a moment, I realize I'm simply waiting, waiting for something big, and we're slowly cooking up something as the days go by.

Otro Domingo Sublime... Un día sin conciertos, pero con música, la música que elijo para que me acompañe con mis auriculares mientras viajo, veo los paisajes desde la ventana y voy reflexionando sobre la vida, especialmente sobre los acontecimientos de la última semana. Justo ahora pareciera que la vida está paralizada, desde que inicio Septiembre pareciera que nada ha cambiado, de hecho da la impresión de que algunas cosas van en retroceso, pero si me detengo un momento, me doy cuenta de que simplemente estoy a la espera, a la espera de algo grande y que estamos cocinando lentamente con el paso de los días.

How difficult it is to wait patiently! And yet I know it's necessary to remain calm and live day by day. In fact, the success of all these future projects depends on thinking with a cool head right now, planning well, and making good decisions. Anxiety only causes me to miss out on beautiful days like this, where nature offers a gorgeous play of light and shadow between white and gray clouds resting on the distant mountains. Sundays have always held a special atmosphere for me, and they make me refocus on the calm, which is often disturbed during the week...

¡Que difícil es esperar pacientemente!, y eso que estoy consciente de que es necesario estar en calma y vivir el día a día, de hecho, el éxito de todos esos proyectos a futuro depende de pensar con cabeza fría justo ahora, planificar bien y tomar buenas decisiones. La ansiedad solo me lleva a perderme días tan hermosos como este, donde la naturaleza te ofrece un hermoso juego de luces y sombras entre nubes blancas y grises que reposan sobre las lejanas montañas. Los Domingos siempre han tenido una atmósfera especial para mí, y me hacen volver a centrarme en la calma, que muchas veces es perturbada durante la semana...

From the car, everything looks beautiful and calm. The landscapes have the music I choose in the background to accompany me, and from a distance, everything seems to move slowly, like the feelings I carry inside. However, I know this is just an effect of being in a safe place, where the windshield and windows become the barrier of a peaceful refuge, and that out there there is only heat, noise, and chaos. That's when you realize something isn't right inside you, because peace isn't about avoiding our surroundings; we carry peace inside, and if we achieve it, we can experience the most sublime feelings wherever we are.

Desde el automóvil todo luce hermoso y calmado, los paisajes llevan de fondo la música que yo elijo para que me acompañe y a distancia parece que todo se mueve lentamente, como los sentimientos que llevo por dentro; sin embargo, sé que esto es solo un efecto de estar en un lugar seguro, donde el parabrisas y las ventanas se convierten en la barrera de un refugio de paz, y que allá afuera solo hay calor, ruido y mucho caos. Ahí es donde te das cuenta que algo no está bien en ti, porque la paz no se trata de evitar nuestro entorno, la paz la llevamos por dentro y si la alcanzamos podremos tener los sentimientos más sublimes donde quiera que estemos.

I won't deny it, the week that just ended was a challenge for me. Life always tries to hit you with everything through people, even now that I've learned to set boundaries, to allow only those approved by my soul into my environment to maintain my peace, but there are always details that can change your day, both for better and for worse. I can proudly say that I've played my pieces with great elegance. There are things that affect the exact moment they happen, but they no longer become feelings that accompany and disturb me for several days.

No lo voy a negar, la semana que acaba de terminar representó un reto para mí. La vida siempre trata de darte con todo a través de las personas, incluso ahora que he aprendido poner límites, a permitir en mi entorno solo a las personas aprobadas por mi alma para mantener mi paz, pero siempre hay detalles que pueden cambiar tu día, tanto para bien como para mal. Orgullosamente puedo decir que he jugado mis piezas con mucha elegancia, hay cosas que afectan el momento justo en el que ocurren, pero ya no se convierten en sentimientos que me acompañen y me perturben durante varios días.

Now that I feel wiser, it seems things remain the same basic rules I learned in childhood, and that people have distorted so much over time that it seems trying to maintain them makes you look like a wrong person in society... How easy it is to live your own life, respecting the rules and without affecting the lives of others. Let people make mistakes! Everyone has their own process of learning and discovering reality... Respect others! Their opinions and what they do. If it doesn't affect you, you shouldn't even have an opinion. It's impressive how many things fix themselves, and that's because we all have the ability to think and reflect, just not at the same speed. If I'm enjoying a Sublime Sunday today, it's simply because I've learned to say no, and that beautiful word weighs less and less on me ❤️ No...

Ahora que me siento más sabio, parece que las cosas siguen siendo las mismas reglas básicas que aprendí en la infancia y que la gente ha ido distorsionando tanto con el paso del tiempo que pareciera que intentar mantenerlas te hace ver como una persona equivocada en la sociedad... Que fácil es vivir tu propia vida, respetando las reglas y sin afectar la vida de los demás. ¡Deja que las personas se equivoquen!, todos tienen su proceso de aprender y descubrir la realidad... ¡Respeta a los demás!, sus opiniones y lo que hacen, si no te afecta ni siquiera deberías opinar; es impresionante como muchas cosas se arreglan solas y eso es porque todos tenemos la capacidad de pensar y reflexionar, solo que no a la misma velocidad. Si hoy disfruto de un Domingo Sublime es simplemente por haber aprendido a decir que no, y cada vez me pesa menos esa hermosa palabra ❤️ No...

It was nice and sunny this morning as I had a walk around my village lido.  Lots of lovely reflections on the water.

This is Wingy, the Canada goose who has become a celebrity in the village. Wingy has an injured wing due to a disease called angel wing. This condition causes a bird's flight feathers to twist as they grow. The feathers will then point away from the body instead of lying flat. If the disease is caught early, it can be treated. For many wild birds, however, early treatment can be difficult.

Wingy is monitored by a local animal sanctuary who came out to trim its wing to make it more comfortable.  The villagers look out for it but it is quite independent. Such birds normally can't fly but I'm sure someone said Wingy can fly short distances.

We have a young great crested grebe visiting the lido.  It's not very often you see them here so I had to pop down and see it for myself.

The lovely pochard is also coming and going.  It obviously likes it here.

I finally ticked off another bucket list adventure, and this time it was at Kabutongan Falls. It was my first time visiting this majestic waterfall, and let me tell you—it was every bit as magical as I imagined.

The journey itself was already an adventure. My friends and I had to trek through a mix of rough trails, streams, and rocks before we could even hear the rush of water in the distance. Every step built up the excitement, and when we finally caught the first glimpse of Kabutongan, I felt my jaw drop. The falls were tall, powerful, and surrounded by lush greenery that made the whole scene look straight out of a nature documentary.

One of the highlights of this trip was definitely going under the cave beneath the falls. At first, I was hesitant—the sound of the water crashing was loud and intimidating—but curiosity won. We carefully made our way in, and suddenly, we were inside this hidden chamber, watching the curtain of water from behind. It felt surreal, like being let in on a secret only nature could share. The cool mist, the echo of the water, and the little shafts of light sneaking in made the place feel sacred.

Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without the laughter and craziness with my friends. We took turns diving into the basin, cheering each other on, and capturing a ton of photos to freeze the moment. But beyond the fun, I really appreciated the peacefulness of Kabutongan. It was the kind of place that makes you forget about the busyness of daily life and just live in the moment.

By the end of the day, tired but happy, I couldn’t stop replaying the experience in my head. Visiting Kabutongan Falls wasn’t just about seeing a beautiful place—it was about conquering the trek, enjoying the company of friends, and discovering the magic tucked away in nature’s hidden corners. And honestly, I can’t wait to go back.

Under the Cave, Beneath the Water

Nowadays, the nature around the village, including the roads, seems to have been redecorated. Blue skies and white clouds floating in the sky have become a common occurrence. Along with this, the view of the sunset in the afternoon has made nature even more beautiful. Along with this, autumn flowers have been added as an additional beauty. The flower that can be seen all around us in autumn is the Kashful. The Kashful blooming in bunches seems to be increasing the beauty of nature several times. To be honest, nature is extraordinary these days.

When we go to the streets of our village, we always see such scenes. Especially the Kashful trees and Kashfuls tied to the streets have taken over the entire road. If you look around, you can only see Kashfuls and Kashfuls. Our entire road is covered with Kashfuls that sway in the wind. In the afternoon, many people come here and gather here and take some photographs along with the beauty. Many others pluck the flowers while leaving here. In the afternoon, I went there and enjoyed the sunset view along with seeing the Kashfuls. I took some photographs along with enjoying the sunset view in between the Kashfuls.

Today is a great day, the last Sunday in the month of September, and it is true we are grateful to God Almighty for everything that he has been doing, is doing, and will continue to do for us all by his grace and mercy in our lives.
We are reminded greatly of good deeds that we are supposed to be doing in our lives as children of light, which we are. A day filled with happiness by his grace for us all, and we indeed hope the happiness transfers to everybody one by one by his grace and mercy.

We are to keep the commandment of the Lord until the appearing of the Lord. In steadfastness in one way or the other, we are supposed to keep those words of the lord, which we are supposed to keep. Obedience is a great key, and of course we are to trust and obey.
My soul gives praise to the Lord. Like the psalmist, we are singing that our souls should give praise to the Lord. He is the creator of heaven and earth and everything that is within us all; we are to give him praise and adoration and thanksgiving in life.

Always help others in poverty of faith, poverty of life, and any way in which you can in life. There are many types of poverty in which one can be knowingly or unknowingly, and we really should be a help to them in any way in which we can. If they did not even ask us for help, we should also do the good things that we are supposed to do for others.
Thank you, Lord. Our mouths are full of thanks as we really continue to hope for everything good by God's grace in our lives.
