Art Cocktail For Friday!

Today I thought I'd entertain you with another art cocktail. I'm trying to make these posts regular, because I like them, I like how it makes you think which one you like the most and I hope I'm not the only one.

Art Cocktail.jpg

Choosing between sculptures, paintings, textile art, photography, you name it, makes it more interesting in my eyes. I'm cleaning my folders anyway, so it's a good occasion to post the photos that are not posted yet.

20240321_124606a.jpg

Let's start with this landscape, by an artist called Vera Dan. A very talented artist, but I feel like landscapes are not her specialty. I've posted about her other works last year in March or April and can solemnly swear, I prefer the other works. This landscape is nice, but not really for me.

20240321_125049a.jpg

Another painting from the same artist and now you see what I was talking about earlier. Obviously each to their own, but I like this one better. My knowledge about art is not enough to know what style this is. Is it abstract? Abstract portrait? Don't know, but it doesn't even matter as it is good as it is. I like how the man is wrapped in tin, like a cage. So many times we feel the same, like being hostage in a situation and we can't escape.

20240628_112155a.jpg

A painting from Ioan Alexandru Herdelau, an old lady, that you see in villages. Looks like she's thinking of the good old times. After visiting the exhibition, which was last year in June, came to the conclusion that the most important in a portrait for the artist is the eyes. This painting is not any different. There's the orange-red background and the blurred bust, but what strikes you is the eyes. I would not hang it on my wall, but it's really good.

20240628_112325a.jpg

Another painting from Ioan Alexandru Herdelau, one which would have a place on my wall for sure. I've seen several paintings with this brushstroke style and I love it. Faces are blurred, there's no clear outline, which makes the painting particular and I love it. I love the colors used here, just a few and white and light shades are dominating. Very good decision.

20220503_115928a.jpg

Morning in Alcsik, a foggy photo, that will always be my dream. I love the blueish light and how the photographer chose the location. Those lands add a lot to the beauty of the photo.

20220503_120149(0)a.jpg

Fiery Beauty, a lovely poppy in an even lovelier light.

20221115_122119a.JPG

Now comes the fun part. This wooden bike was parked in the exhibition room in 2022, but it was not exhibited. It's not a work of art, but in my eyes it is. Look at the execution, how lovely the design is. The owner is unknown, the artist is unknown, but whoever made it, is an exceptional artist in my eyes.

20230418_121243a.JPG

This is a photo I took in April, 2023, at a solo exhibition of Béla Szepessi, an exhibition called Hungarian Simplicissimus. It's lithography, a type of art that is not for everyone, because it's monochrome and not only. I can't say I'm a fan of it as it can be depressing, but I have respect for those who are able to create such artworks.

Nagyvárad - Oradea

Look at this one. Even if you don't like it, you must admit, you need some skills to create such a detailed masterpiece. These are usually about old cityscapes, fortresses, churches, battles and so on. This was a big piece, so I'm wondering how much time you would need to finish such a big work. This is history was well as it's not fiction, it's about a Transylvanian city.

20230821_112158a.jpg

We're changing style here and continuing with a more colorful style. This photo was taken in August, 2023 at a solo exhibition of Zsolt Simon, that had as title Image - Sign.

20230821_112139a.jpg

It was a three piece series, a triptych, called Art Studio.

20230821_112226a.jpg

20230821_112234a.jpg

I think I'll leave this to you, to tell me why is it called Art Studio and what you see here. I like the black background and the colorful drawings and special thanks for using black frames, which was the best choice in my opinion.

This is it for today, I hope you have some favorites. Let me know in a comment.

Works varied in style, some brilliant like the second one, which I think could be an abstract portrait. I really liked it!

But I have no idea why it's called Art Studio, unless the artist paints in a place called that or belongs to a particular studio.

When there is a high level of detail, it makes me think about the hours that went into that work, the same as with the faces, in addition to knowledge, many hours. The old woman is beautiful.

The bicycle should be classified as art, it is unique and beautiful!

I guess we never know as artists are known to be undecided and always trying to add something as a work is never finished in their eyes, but apart from this aspect, yes, I agree, we have no idea how much time goes into a detailed work. I guess the tight answer is "a lot".

Looks like no one has any idea what the Art Studio is, but it's fun guessing 😆

I assure you that some paintings take a week to complete, if the level of detail is high. And if there are faces, it also depends on that, on the detail. Have a wonderful day!

image.png this one is my favorite, i would hang it on a wall, so beautiful, a great catch

image.png i don't mind this one, it doesnt make me depressed, it sure takes a lot of time and skills, i wouldn't hang it but it has my admiration

Art Studio is too much abstract for my likings lol, in the middle one i see a person like cheering, on the first one a sort of multiple faces on the right but the last one is pure mistery, a sort of deformed face

The foggy landscape photo is really good, I agree with you on that.

Interesting take on the Art Studio :)

Hi Erika, from these latest works of art Art studio, I see a paradox of the real, I see how after a sunrise emerges product of something deeper and stranger that we can not intuit as our own body, as hearts and flowers that alleviate ills of the body and soul.

Hello @janitzearratia. Interesting description of Art Studio. Last night I was too tired to write about it, but I usually launch a challenge in my posts, leaving one painting for readers 😀

I also like that second picture. I don't think its abstract because it's recognisable as a male figure. I also get that feeling of beeing tide up or locked up. Yep, we have all been in that position I think.

We agree on that. I think everyone has a phase in their lives that feels like the scene on the painting. It's a good one.

Despite the variety of artworks you shared today, there wasn't a single one I didn't like. The drawings of people by the first two artists were my favorites, and these last paintings with a black background and frame only piqued my curiosity. I don't think I'd ever seen anything like this. Thanks for sharing Erikah! Happy weekend ✌️

There are paintings that would relate to what is happening in our life, and some artist also used their feelings on their art.
