Hive Analytics Beta was announced a week ago. You can check out the announcement post here.

Hive Analytics provides reports on all aspects of the Hive ecosystem from curation, content, financial with a large set of anti-abuse tools.

The current beta version of Hive Analytics has 24 reports with the plan to have over 100 new reports and tools. Hive Analytics uses smart caching using valkey, a Redis compatible cache, to massively reduce the load on nodes and databases used to build the reports while providing excellent performance to end users.

After running for about a week, I can see the most popular reports being run.

The Value Plan spending is the most popular report.

While the current report simply aggregates the available data by who funds are dispersed to, the plan is to offer additional views that will group funding by project as well.

It is no surprise Hive whales is one of the more popular reports replacing the old Whales tool from many years ago.

This report pulls the top 1000 accounts, my goal is to support all accounts, but this will be a lot more complicated to accomplish in a way that doesn't hit timeouts on the backend but also doesn't take forever to run.

The next report took me by surprise, but shows the HP holdings of all accounts created by a specific account with leo.voter and ocd being the popular ones looked at.

There are currently 24 reports live on Hive Analytics beta with at least 100 others planned. My goal is to replace all the reports I have in my backend proprietary system as well as new ones over time. These reports include all aspects of the Hive Ecosystem from native layer 1 (Hive) and layer protocols like Hive Engine, Splinterlands, VSC, and more. The idea is to make data available to everyone without having any technical experience.

A significant part of Hive Analytics will be the anti-abuse tooling that will allow abuse fighters to find patterns and research abuse easier and faster than ever. These reports will be locked down to a very small trusted whitelist of users but will make life a lot easier.

Export functionality will be built into every report when possible to allow exporting data as CSV and markdown (usable in posts).

I also want to revamp my Personal Dashboards into Hive Analytics.

I already did the work to get the framework of the project up and running. This demo allows you to see how further reports will work and the type of data available. As more reports are added, more complications will come up to collect and make available data in in a timely manor. Some of these are more complicated and will require more backend systems and databases to aggregate data so it can be presented in a timely manor to users.

$100/ a day (spread over a year) is a tiny salary to pay for dashboards the likes of this quality. Corporations pay numerous Analysts and Business Intelligence people $100k+ each per year to build a fraction of what this tool already has.

clearly stated what's the utility behind it
coming from someone invested in Hive
not asking for a huge amount of money (which is not a problem in itself... but it's a problem when some projects get hundred of thousands of dollars without having delivered anything for years)

Where in the business world does a client pay for software without getting the source code? I don't know of such a case. You say you find the DHF super problematic, and I absolutely agree with you, but you are continuing one of the most problematic patterns of it. Would have liked to see better (I really like everything else about the proposal). Hope you have your reasons.

I've been in the business world since high school when I started my first company, it's extremely rare you actually get source code. I'm not opposed to providing it at some point though. There are certain reports I just wouldn't though, as it would be counter productive to anti-abuse efforts.

I strongly favor this proposal. I also very much appreciate the skill, resources, and hard work you have dedicated to making these tools, that are very much needed. However, I have committed to voting only the Return Proposal until and unless proposals commit to and employ GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) to account for the funds disbursed by the DHF, because of the rampant waste and fraud that is apparent and ongoing.

I realize the value of your work, resources, and skill far exceeds your ask, but I would be able to vote for this proposal were you to commit to accounting for expenditures of DHF funds, and I want to support this proposal. Particularly because you are undertaking to provide tools to expose and prevent fraud, will you commit to exemplifying the accounting for DHF funds that can establish the use of GAAP as a necessary feature of proposals going forward? That lack of accounting is fundamental to the fraud, waste, and abuse that has, and continues to, extract the funds in the DHF that should be laser-focused on development, but today are all too often frittered away on rally cars and extravagant spending without any benefit to Hive or any accounting to the Hive community whatsoever. There's no mention of accounting in the proposal itself, and I expect you strongly concur regarding the need for it, not so much regarding this proposal, but for so many that are bleeding the DHF without benefit to Hive.

Please demonstrate in this proposal that accounting for DHF funds is something every proposal must do, and can be done. Given you are a one man shop and the tracking of expenditures and pay would be simple for this proposal, I sincerely hope you will.

Outside of hosting, all expenses are development time and the proposal is for far less than my time is worth. If it passes and I continue the project, there will be more expenses for hosting as some reports will require additional collection and databases outside of what is available.

That's why it would be trivially easy to account for DHF fund expenditures for this specific proposal, and would set a bar for other proposals. You didn't mention the utility of accounting regarding proposals I expect we agree aren't spending DHF fund wisely. Your focus appears to be the prevention of abuse, which I expect requiring accounting for DHF funds expenditures would assist.

Frankly, even if the whole of the expenditures were just pay for your time, it'd be a bargain, IMHO, so I am not trying to trip you up regarding that. I doubt anyone could make a convincing case that your skills aren't worth 100 HBD a day. Hell, I'm worth more than that with a hammer in my hand and a pencil in my pocket.

Please do address the need to require accounting in order to help prevent abuse of the DHF, here.

It is rampant because it isn't held to account. That's the thing I am trying to accomplish here. Accounting. It's been alleged that the DHF spent, for example, $500 on sand that was dug out of someone's living room for free, and there's no receipts, no book keeping, no GAAP that would at least require such fraud to be committed with fake receipts.

Please help to prevent that fraud that is robbing everyone on Hive - but hardly any more than you - by providing the example that all successful proposals will be held to hereafter. It will not be more than a trifle for you to do this in this initiative. It will add an extremely useful anti-abuse toolkit to the arsenal this proposal advents.

You seem reluctant, which baffles me. Why haven't you enthusiastically advocated this simple, common sense measure long ago in your efforts to curb abuse? The $M's that the DHF has bled out may be a pathetic joke to you, but that's more than the stake of the entire minnow population, so for them it is a monumental fortune and devastating loss. If Hive loses that community, the token loses it's value, and neither of us wants that to happen. If this fraud continues, sooner or later that will happen.

Please commit to using GAAP in your proposal, so I can vote for it, Hive will be saved, and in turn enable voluntarist governance to eventually be effected through Hive globally, then across the solar system, and beyond, in perpetuity.

It's rampant because pretty much anything is approved and then forgotten about. Leo said they would return the funds if they didn't meet their promises.

Yet this is what we paid $230,000 for and they wanted another $260K for another year and said the system is corrupt because they didn't get it.

I am not reluctant, I just feel the DHF is hopeless. We spent what $800K on a rally car that doesn't even finish the race most of the time. $80k on a tip bot that left after getting paid, another $160k on another project that abandoned without handing over anything, $230k on Leo to "onboard" 50K users with 0 HP. We are drilling bore holes in the middle of third world countries while our price keeps going down and no investors are signing up. There are absolutely nothing I can do about it, I have pushed against most all of the proposals as they ask absurd amounts of money for little benefit to Hive.

My proposal is very straight forward, there isn't much to account for but like $50-100/m in hosting until it gets more demanding, and 99% of it is labor.

Any progress can easily be seen as new reports are added and executions keep going up. It is really straight forward and open.
