3️⃣ If you were told you had won a scholarship to study or learn something new, what would you like to learn and why?
If I were told that I had won a scholarship to study or learn something new, without thinking twice, I would choose to go to culinary school and study both national and international dishes. For me, food is more than just a necessity of life. It is culture, creativity, and comfort all combined in one. The idea of learning how to prepare dishes from different parts of the world excites me because it would not only broaden my knowledge of food but also help me to build a future in something I truly enjoy.
One of the main reasons I would love to learn culinary arts is because I want to open my own restaurant someday. I imagine having a place where people can walk in and experience the joy of tasting both local dishes they are familiar with and international meals they may have never tried before. A restaurant is not just about serving food; it is about creating experiences. By studying in a culinary school, I would gain the skills and knowledge needed to create menus that are unique, healthy, and appealing to all kinds of people.
I have always been fascinated by the creativity that goes into making meals. For example, the way a simple dish can be presented beautifully to make it more appetizing shows that food is also an art. Culinary school will give me the opportunity to learn about food presentation, recipe development, flavor combinations, and modern cooking techniques. These are things I cannot just learn by cooking at home but require proper training from professionals. Being able to create something new from basic ingredients is something I look forward to mastering.
Another reason why I want to learn about national and international dishes is because I love new ideas. Tasting food from different cultures opens up a new world of possibilities. Every culture has its own unique way of cooking, seasoning, and presenting food, and I find that very inspiring. For example, Nigerian dishes are rich in spices and flavors, Italian meals focus on pasta and simplicity, while Asian cuisine brings balance and freshness. Learning these different styles would allow me to blend ideas together and create my own signature meals.
Also, cooking gives me joy. There is something satisfying about preparing food and seeing people enjoy it. When I cook for family or friends, and they compliment the taste or ask for more, I feel proud and encouraged. It is this joy that makes me want to take cooking more seriously as a career. A scholarship would be a dream come true because it would allow me to study what I truly love without worrying too much about the cost.
In conclusion, if I had the chance to study something new through a scholarship, I would gladly choose culinary arts. I would focus on learning both national and international dishes because I want to turn my passion into a career by opening a restaurant. Food brings happiness, and for me, learning the art of food would not just be an education but a life-changing opportunity.
