# How to join a Community

You can’t say you are a bonafide member of Hive if you do not belong to a community or support a community. Hive is community-based and together as a community we grow.

A community is made of people who share similar interests in a particular niche. Joining a community means meeting people of similar interests and building relationships. Remember, we build genuine relationships on Hive.

Joining communities you like and engaging with members of the community can help build new relationships. Being active is also important.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to join several communities using the [Ecency DApp](https://ecency.com/).

To join a community you have to follow these simple steps:

- Click on the three horizontal lines once you are logged in on Ecency.

Wow it's been a while i last wrote here, where and how did the time fly so fast?  I'm so glad i finally made it back here like i never left 😊.

The saying that health is wealth is one of the wisest and most important  statement I ever heard while growing up, one whose authenticity cannot be compromised. 
Good health is a gift that if you have ever been critically ill,  you would pay any price to have. 

The fact that staying healthy as individuals is largely dependent on our habits, lifestyle and choices clearly shows that we have huge roles to play to stay healthy and enjoy good health. Aside the fact that there are certain congenital anomalies or conditions that certain individuals are born with which is usually no fault of theirs  but as a result of the conditions and factors surrounding their births, most diseases and health challenges faced or experienced by people are to a large extent caused by them. 

I know we can never be too careful as certain things may be beyond our control as humans but we can still try to ensure that we prioritize our health always because we definitely need sound health to enjoy the good things of life. 
Some of the little lifestyle adjustments or modifications that may seem insignificant on the surface but when   employed can help us stay healthy includes:

Constant Hydration :  
I hear people make statement like "water is life" and I agree with them 100% that water is indeed life. The body needs water constantly for it to function optimally. Virtually all metabolic functions in the body is facilitated  by the presence of water. Water is needed for digestion  and absorption of food and nutrients. Water is needed for circulation of blood and other nutrients to various sites in the body where they are required. Water is needed for energy production in the body powerhouse. Water also helps in detoxification of the liver to help eliminate unwanted toxins and wastes  out of the body. Infact about 70% of the normal body weight is made up of water. This tells us how important water is to the body. 


Staying hydrated by constantly drinking enough of water might just be that change one may decide to adopt that would improve their health. I used to barely drink water previously because i usually do not feel thirsty but in recent times since i got to understand the health benefits of water, i now ensure that i drink lots of water daily. I even went as far as setting reminders on my phone to help remind me that i need to drink water at certain times of the day. I ensure that i always go out with a water bottle so that i don't forget that I need to drink water. Since i started doing this i have seen substantial improvement in my health. If you're like me that barely drink water in a day, you could try doing this as i believe this could also help you.

Having adequate rest and sleep :
The importance of having sufficient rest and sleep cannot be over emphasized. I see a lot of sleep-deprived people walking on the streets everyday going about their normal routine  on a daily basis and my heart goes out to them. I know  we live in a fast-paced world where every minute and second counts but in the midst of all that we should always create time where we shut down and rest, have good quality sleep and our bodies will thank us for that.  

We should all get to a point in our lives where we should not feel guilty about having 7 - 9 hours quality sleep. I know there are always deadlines to meet, projects to complete, tasks to perform and all of that but giving our body the rest it deserves is of utmost necessity. Constant sleep deprivation causes an increase in cortisol level which increases our stress level and further causes certain medical issues such as High blood pressure (Hypertension), Fatigue, Lack of attention, Eating Disorders, Stroke etc.

Eating Healthy :
The food we eat can either make or mar us. Eating healthy meals that is rich in all the essential nutrients required by the body is a major necessity. Constant eating of junks and processed foods leads to certain disease conditions such as increased cholesterol level (dyslipidemia), Elevated blood sugar (Hyperglycemia)  which ultimately leads to Diabetes, Obesity etc. 

I clearly understand that we barely have time for ourselves nowadays as there is always a job that we need to get done with and move unto the next item on our list, and we just want to grab a bite of whatever is available just to fill our stomach and continue our job, but we shouldn't make it a habitual action as the compounding effect in the long run would be disastrous to our health.

Regular Health Checks : 
As a health professional everyday i see people coming into our health facility without having a clue of their health status. I always have and will always be an advocate of constant and routine general body check. 

Please ensure you always check your weight, your blood pressure, your blood sugar level, atleast these three basic parameters should be frequently checked. Then quarterly you can do a full body check up to know the state of your internal organs just to be sure that your health is on track. 

The importance of this routine checks is enormous, like people would often say, "identifying a problem is the first step to solving that problem". When you check your health status constantly you can be able to effectively prevent certain health conditions but when you don't , things can be going wrong internally and you wouldn't know until one day your body finally crashes. 

Like a popular medical parlance that says "Early detection saves life", always avail yourself to get tested on a regular basis inorder to avert unforseen health challenges. 

So Hiveans these are a few tips i would like to share with us that if employed can improve our health and life in general. I would like to read and learn from others on what physical tips that would help us live healthy.

Valentine is that special time of the year that you can literally see and feel love ❤ in the air. It's the way couples always plan towards celebrating valentine in a unique way that fascinates me. The line up of events for that day makes that day extra special. All the buzz from vendors few weeks or a month to that day advertising their products for people to buy and gift their partners adds its own flavor to that day. Then the signature touch of red and white as dress code for lovers on that day makes it so colorful 😍. Indeed Valentine is a memorable time of the year. 




Single pringles like me 😀 usually go on solo dates alone on that day, normally I just go to any fancy restaurant eat, take pictures and after filling my eyes watching the display of love from lovers around, I go home and off I go to bed reminiscing on all the beautiful things I saw that day.

Two years ago this my routine changed, as I was invited by a friend for an annual valentine's day conference titled "True Love Relationship Conference". This conference is organized by a marriage counselor and relationship coach who is popularly called the "love doctor". During this program speakers are usually invited from within and outside the country such as seasoned relationship coaches, family therapists, marriage counselors, sex therapists and a host of others who are invited to come and share their wealth of knowledge based on the theme of the programme with the audience. 

It is usually a two (2) days conference. It usually holds on the 13th and 14th of February, with Valentine day been the grand finale. On this day there is usually a raffle draw towards the end of the conference as gift prizes are usually won ranging from Cars, Fans, Air conditioners, Blenders, Phones, Washing Machines, Televisions, and lots of other prizes. 

Tickets containing different numbers boldly written on them are usually distributed by the ushers on the first and second day of the conference to all participants in attendance. On the last day, a wheel containing all the tickets is spinned and tickets are picked at random. The ticket number of the ticket picked is usually called out  and the participant with that ticket number wins a gift. 

The joy one feels when their  ticket number is called as a winner of any of the gift is so enormous, you would see people screaming, jumping, jubilitating and just being happy 😀. It's usually a sight to beholdiv>

Last year, precisely on Valentine's day which was the last day of the conference, luck shone on me as I emerged one of the lucky winners of a standing fan during the raffle draw. When my ticket number was mentioned, it took me some time before I could process that I was the one with that number, to say I was surprised was an understatement, I was stunned 😀, when i finally realized myself I was just grinning 😀 so wide. The joy and excitement I felt couldn't be explained, my friend who invited me was screaming in excitement in the background while I walked to the stage to receive my gift. It was a memorable Valentine's day for me which I wouldn't forget in a hurry. To think that the fan is still serving me till today is amazing. 

This is my best Valentine experience I have ever had and i'm looking forward to more memorable ones subsequently.

As humans we grow from infancy to childhood and from there on to adolescence/teenage hood and finally we become full blown adults. There are certain habits,  thought patterns or cognitive styles that we adopt at different stages of our development, some of them we outgrow them, some we conciously drop them at some point while there are others that follows us to adulthood and becomes an integral part of us to the point that if conscious efforts aren't made to change or stop them we just continue with them for the rest of our lives. 


Some of these habits may be very good and beneficial to us and we should be encouraged to keep at it, but some might be very unhealthy that if we don't learn to refrain from them, they might be disastrous to us in later times.

Over thinking is a classical example of these habit or thought patterns that one adopts or develops over time. It is the ability of an individual to excessively analyze, think, ponder or reflect on their thoughts, experiences, feelings or actions, which could in turn lead to worrying, anxiety, inability to let go, indecisiveness, mental and physical exhaustion and a host of other negative outcomes.

I would like to describe myself as an over thinker. I always find myself repeatedly analyzing or thinking about my past experiences, actions and thoughts or sometimes when i'm about taking steps or doing something I haven't done before i tend to worry about the action i'm about to take. You would see me thinking about potential problems that may arise as a result of this thing i'm about to do or I would just be playing worse-case scenarios that are likely to spring up when I go ahead to do this. Most times it leads to me being worried and anxious,  having this terrible fear of the unknown and most times it makes me unable to do what I wanted to do again. 


I have tried to get rid of this habit but it seems to have stuck with me for too long . Initially I couldn't exactly pinpoint or explain it, but in recent times having carried out self-appraisal on myself that was when I discovered that I was a chronic over thinker. I keep telling myself that this my thought pattern isn't healthy for me and it has limited me in several ways and has prevented me from facing my fears and taking up challenging tasks; but then stopping it is the problem.

One event that happened that made me overthink, to a point that I started doubting myself and my ability was when after I had just graduated from college, I started job hunting. I submitted my resume and cover letter to several establishments in my field, anticipating that they would call me for interview and at the end of the day I was definitely going to land a job. Days passed,  weeks passed and I didn't get a call from any of these organizations, i started getting worried until finally one called me and requested that I come for interview the next day. The day I received that call I was so excited, it was more or less a breath of fresh air from the long silence I had experienced. 


On the said day of the interview, I went there as early as possible and after waiting for sometime I was led into the HR office to be interviewed. The interview started on a good note, I was asked several questions and I tried answering them to the best of my ability,  after the interview the  interviewer began pointing out the errors and mistakes I made, he spotted out errors in almost everything I said and finally told me that from what he saw I was inexperienced for the role I applied for and they couldn't employ me.  I was heartbroken, dejected and I felt like a failure. I kept on thinking about the entire scenario that played out, thinking of what I could have done differently that would have made them hire me. 


I didn't even know how I got home that day, because  I could remember that at some point my legs could no longer carry me. Immediately I got home I went straight to my room and shut the door, I cried until I slept off. It was until  evening that I finally came out of my room. My entire family were so worried about me, they tried coming to check up on me but my door was locked and they knocked severally but I wasn't responding. They called my phone but I didn't pick up, so they got really worried. I felt bad for making them go through such stress and I immediately apologized to them and then narrated my ordeal to them. They felt so sorry for me, they sympathized with me and encouraged me to still look up for more opportunities and that I shouldn't let this one experience deter me from looking out for other job offers, rather I should channel my energy to pick up the lessons from the mistakes I made, I should correct them and get myself better prepared next time.

This experience plagued me for so long, it made me feel very inadequate, like I wasn't good for any job in my field of expertise. It made me so scared to apply for jobs in other firms, thinking that the same thing was going to still play out. Despite all the encouragements from close family and friends I still just couldn't, I was wallowing in self-doubt and self-pity. I allowed this one experience to define me, that I was a failure. It was a very depressing phase of my life, I lost my joy and drive. My life became gloomy, I hardly stepped out of my room, I barely smiled or talked with people. It was more or less like my life got paused. 


On one fateful day I was just going round the street of Facebook when I came across a video where a motivational speaker was talking about facing our fears and one word he used was "do it afraid", he said it is better we do that thing that scares us the most afraid than not doing it at all. In the caption of the video I noticed that it was an excerpt of his podcast, and the link of the full podcast was there, immediately I clicked on it and I listened to the full podcast. Immediately I did that my mood improved, one word I held unto was that "Do it Afraid".

Immediately I picked relevant materials in my field I studied them, I tweaked my resume and my cover letter and started my job hunting process. I sent them to various recruiters, and this time I received so many invitation to come for interview which I did. Infact the first two I went for immediately after the interview, the interviewers said they were really impressed by my performance and that they would get back to me, not quiet long I received a mail from the both of them telling me that I had been hired, it was now left for me to choose the one that I would work with. At the end of the day I chose the one who their mode of operation aligns with my goals and I know that I could gain hands-on experience and grow professionally. 


This was one event that made me know that I was an over thinker. I kept on thinking about the bad experience I had, which made me worried and scared to try applying to other firms. I'm really grateful for that podcast I listened to, probably it was the  therapy I needed at that moment. 


In recent times to control my over thinking nature, I am learning to challenge and change negative thoughts that pops up in my mind that have the tendency to limit me. Once I recognize them, I immediately refrain from them and rather dwell on positive thoughts. I have started practicing declaring words of affirmations daily as a lifestyle. 
Also I have  learnt to treat myself with kindness instead of being too hard on myself, telling myself that uncertainty is part of life and I can't have everything under control at all times.

In every aspect of human life, organization is of utmost importance. Infact personally, I think the act of organization should be taught as a subject or course of its own at every level of education. The fact that being able to properly organize ones space or activities makes a person more productive and efficient cannot be over emphasized. 

Over the years i've always strived to inculcate the act of organization into every aspect of my life. I wouldn't say I have perfected it because some times I flop at it but I can say that I have gotten better than I used to be previously.

I'm someone that developing a system or structure helps me stay on track, and also helps me avoid unnecessary distractions. Once i'm able to successfully develop that structure I implore it as a daily routine and it helps me achieve my goals and increases my productivity. 

Here on this digital space, building this structure has been of immense help. Knowing the kind of person that I am, i'm one that is easily swayed by unnecessary activities and I also have a not-so long attention span, so having this structure to guide my daily activity here on the digital space became a necessity and i'm glad I was able to develop one that has proven to be effective in time past.

 **Emails**
Previously, once an email notification pops up on either my phone or computer screen I immediately abandon what I was doing and head to my mailbox to read it, but not anymore. Presently, I set specific times of the day which may be 3-4 times daily to check my mailbox, respond to any mail that needs to be responded to, delete or archive unimportant mails and just clean my inbox in general. My joy 😁 knew no bounds when I discovered an email automation tool known as "Sanebox" which helps me schedule mails to be sent out and also filters unimportant or spam mails into a folder it terms as "Sanelater". It reminds me of important mails I need to attend to and generally declutters my inbox. This tool has been of immense help to me and has helped me manage and organize my email properly.

 **Notifications**
Most times when I want to focus on the work I have at hand I put my phone on do-not-disturb (DND). This has helped me avoid distraction from unnecessary notifications that just keeps popping up. When one of my close friend discovered I always put my phone on DND when working with it she introduced me to this Google tool known as "Google Smart Notifications". This is one of the best  things that has happened to me in recent times as this tool uses AI to prioritize notifications, from the most important to the least important, arranges similar notifications into bundles or groups and generally manages notifications on my android device. The way i've been telling people about this tool you would think that Google paid me to advertise their product for them 😀. All in all I am grateful that I now have this tool to help me organize my notifications while I focus on more important things.

  **Social Media**
Like many other things in my life, social media is one of my biggest distractions. I easily get carried away once I log into my different social media apps. It usually seems as if once i'm on social media nothing at all makes sense or have meaning,  aside from what I'm doing on Social media. The way I would go from WhatsApp to Twitter from there to Tiktok, and finally to Facebook, you would think that I'm getting paid for visiting each of these social media apps. I noticed that my excessive usage of it, was slowing down the pace at which I complete tasks assigned to me, which had negative impact on my productivity, so I had to call my self to order. I resolved to setting up a Social Media Schedule, which regulates my social media check-in and check-out time. I set specific times of the day when I log into these apps and also set designated times when I log out and this has helped to limit the time I spend there and it has helped me immensely.

 **Calender**
I would say that Google Calender has been a lifesaver ever since I discovered and started using it. The way it helps me plan and manage my time is so nice. Once I have any important meeting, events, appointments or anything at all that I need to attend either physically or virtually, I enter it into my google Calender and it reminds me constantly about it.

  **Files**
Google drive has been helping me save my files and documents since time immemorial. The fact that it provides a cloud storage where one can safely store files and being able to access them on any device is amazing. It is my go-to app when I want to retrieve any of my files, because I definitely know I would find what i'm looking for there. 

So here is a glimpse into how I try to stay organized here on this digital space, although sometimes I tend to fall out of line but having these structures helps me to get back on track. I would really love to read from others how they tend to manage and organize their digital space, I know I would be able to learn one or two hacks.

In recent times I have come to fully understand the meaning of the famous statement "Change is the only constant thing in life". This is because almost everything is subject to change, and change itself is an integral part of life. Most times we tend to change various aspects of our lives such as the kind of food we eat, the way we dress, the relationships we keep, the environment we live in, our jobs, our belief system, and our lifestyle in general. As people will often say "Life is dynamic and not static", and when you say something is dynamic it simply means that that thing changes, it does not always remain in a particular way, rather it transforms or evolves at different points in time.

We humans are social animals whose views and perspectives about life changes as we age, or as a result of our level of exposure and education.

Before now I used to believe in certain ideologies but over time I have come to realize that my perspective towards those ideologies or those things I used to believe in has changed probably due to growth or because now I am better informed and enlightened.

"Experience is the best teacher". The younger me believed that experience is actually the best teacher but over the years I have tried to critically appraise that statement and I discovered that experience Isn't always the best teacher. I don't have to experience something firsthand before I take precautionary measures or avoid being in that situation.  It's more or less like saying I need to have been burnt by fire before I know that my hand can get burnt if I put it inside fire or I need to steal and be caught and probably prosecuted before I will know that stealing is bad or I need to first be sacked from my job before I'll know that if I fail to do the job I was employed to do that I can get laid off (be sacked)and trust me the list is endless. 

For me, you don't have to wait to experience something before you learn. By observing things, people, or patterns one can actually learn to do things better or learn to refrain from doing certain things.

Prior to this time, I used to belong to the school of thought that believes that being a good person automatically makes everybody love you but I don't believe in that anymore. I have come to realize that the supposed "good people " by society's standards are the ones that get treated badly the most by people. I have come to understand that being a good person doesn't guarantee people's love or loyalty to you, yes certain people would naturally get attracted to you and gravitate towards you because of the kind of person you are, and there are still a lot of people that wouldn't like you which is no fault of yours but because they may be too blind to see the good virtues you possess or probably they may be envious of you or that's just who they are. 

Rather, than trying to always make people love you to the point of displeasing yourself to please others just be yourself and the people who will cherish you for who you are will definitely find you and will always want to identify with you.

Lastly, I grew up hearing that the most successful people in life are those born with a silver spoon (ie those born into wealthy families) and while growing up I held on to that, but over the years I have come to find out that, that statement isn't always true. Yes, being born into wealth gives you certain kinds of privileges and platforms but the individual's ability to optimize this platform positively is what determines if they will be successful in life or not. 

I have seen people from very humble backgrounds turn out to be super successful and wealthy while certain people born into affluence have nothing to show, all they have is probably their family’s name. As my mentor would always say "What differentiates successful people from unsuccessful people is the mind", if you're able to use your mind productively and steer it towards the right direction and be ready to put in the work, be consistent, go for information and always find better and smarter ways of doing things then you can be successful regardless of the kind of background you came from. 

So these are just a few of the things I used to believe in but stopped believing because I now know better. I would love to know your take on this topic.

Online shopping is literally a life saver to people like me, who seldom have the time and energy to go to a physical shop or market to buy things. The entire process is usually stress-free and very convenient especially when you are  dealing with a lovely online vendor and a sensible logistics/delivery company, but sometimes it can be really tiring when either the vendor or the delivery person or company decides to disappoint or frustrate you but in all It's usually a pleasant experience for me. 


One of my online shopping experience that stands out the most for me was a certain time few years ago that I ordered a phone from a very popular E-commerce store and timely delivery within the stipulated delivery date became a problem.  After waiting for so long for it to be delivered and they kept on delaying the delivery and after so much back and forth from them concerning the delivery, I was finally notified that my delivery was on its way on that fateful day. I felt so relieved because at a point I was considering canceling the order and asking for a refund because my patience had started running out. So on that day i was so excited that finally i was going to get my brand new phone.

After receiving it from the delivery man and taking it home , the entire unboxing process started. After that I plugged it to a socket to charge and I got the major shock of my life, the phone refused to charge. At that point I was confused, I tried severally but all to no avail. After  several attempts I asked my sister for her charger and tried using it to charge the phone and to my greatest amazement immediately it started charging. To say I was annoyed 😠 was an understatement, I was so furious to the point that I just kept on wishing that if they had a physical shop I was going to go there and create a major scene. At that point I was so frustrated and regretted buying the phone online, first the delayed delivery and to make matters worse the charger was bad. 


Everybody around me just kept on sympathizing with me and telling me to calm down. Immediately I sprang into action and composed a very brutal message expressing my displeasure and  sent it to their email address.  Immediately their customer care called me and started apologizing and saying they would send their dispatch rider to immediately come and collect the charger and give me another one. The next day they did as they had promised and delivered a brand new charger, which I had to test in the presence of the dispatch rider to ensure that it was working perfectly to avoid a repeat of what happened earlier. We both confirmed that it was working and the rider left with the spoilt charger, that was how the issue was resolved. This incident was one that I couldn't forget in a hurry.

Asides this particular event I haven't had so many terrible online shopping experiences, most of my online shopping activities are usually very nice and drama-free. I always make sure I do my due diligence before patronizing  a particular vendor, and I can describe myself as a loyal customer. I'm someone that can stick with a particular vendor, brand or product as far as i'm being satisfied by the vendor or product but if I notice any change in either the quality of the product or service or any unruly behaviour of the vendor I would call their attention to it and if I observe that no change is been done that would mark the end of my patronage.  


So this is one of my most memorable online shopping experience and I would be elated to read the experiences of others. So Hiveans how has your online shopping experience been, is there any one that stands out the most, I would like to know.

The year 2025 has just started and for most people, myself inclusive we really wish and hope that 2025 will be the year where we will have our biggest breakthroughs, such as attaining financial stability and independence,  bagging that degree, getting awarded that contract, being given that long-awaited visa, getting married, buying our first or second property as the case may be, getting that job in a multinational company and the list of all that we hope for is endless. 

In the quest of making sure that all we desire and hope for comes to us, most of us have made resolutions, and written down our goals and the strategies that we intend to employ to achieve all these, while there are still some of us who are still trying to figure out what practical steps and approach we need to take to ensure that all we want to achieve in 2025 comes to us.

For me, I recently graduated from College in December last year, and having studied Pharmacy, it is required that I undertake a compulsory one-year internship after graduation before I would be given my permanent license to practice. So the struggle to get an internship placement has begun.

While a student I was usually told by my colleagues in older classes how difficult and sometimes challenging to secure an internship placement after graduation is for most people. The endless applications to various organizations and them promising to call you for an interview, but that call most times never comes. Sometimes, even after the interview, some people would still not be shortlisted for employment.  Along the line people get frustrated and depressed having waited for so long and not being able to secure an internship position. This may in turn result to them missing job opportunities that may come their way because they haven't gotten their license. 

Armed with all these information, immediately after I rounded up my course work I started applying for internship positions, oh boy it hasn't been easy; some organizations have promised to call me when they have scheduled a date for my interview, while others haven't responded to my numerous mails. The reality of life after graduation has started hitting me. 

The one thing that would make 2025 my best year would be securing an internship placement in a renowned health organization such as a Hospital, be it a private, state or federal hospital, a Pharmaceutical industry, a Government agency or parastatal, a top community Pharmacy or an international health organization.
 
Securing an internship position would be my biggest breakthrough for the year as it would signify a major growth and advancement for me in my career, and it would equip me with the requisite skills and experience to take up bigger job roles in the future.

I am optimistic and hopeful that it will happen this year and it won't be delayed. While waiting for that, I am ecstatic and excited for all that 2025 has in store for me. I am taking it one step at a time. This year, I have resolved to take self-development very seriously, and I am making a conscious effort to see to it that I achieve it. I know it won't be easy, and many distractions may set in, but I know with sheer determination and an unbroken focus, I will be able to achieve it. 

So there you have it Hiveans this is what I want the most for 2025 in order for it to be a beautiful year for me. I am hopeful that it would come, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and waiting patiently while also putting in the work. I want to savor every moment as it comes. My 2025 Wishes

Christmas is my favourite season of the year, the festivities associated with it is something I love so much. Everything within that period literally screams Christmas 🎅 😀. The merrimements, happiness and celebrations it comes with makes it special. Our Naija Christmas celebration is always a sight to behold. 

I love my country because we always know how to celebrate Christmas in a unique way. From the beautiful dresses worn on that day, to the beautiful hairs both braided and weavons or wigs worn by females to the nice haircut worn by men. Then talk about the food, that one  is always a blast. From the well cooked party jollof rice, to the well garnished fried rice eaten with coleslaw or salad to the various indigenous soups and swallows prepared by people from various tribes such as Afang Soup paired with Eba, to Fisherman Soup also eaten with Eba or Semovita or even Wheat etc. Infact the list of our local foods  prepared and eaten that day is endless. 

Christmas celebration in my family is always an example of a typical Naija family Christmas. 2024 Christmas celebration wasn't an exception, the only difference was that rather than spending the holiday in my family house in Port Harcourt, I traveled to a new city (Lagos State)  where I spent the Christmas with my sisters and it was fun as usual.

Christmas day started with I and my sisters waking up and getting ready for Christmas church service. On our return from the service, preparations started in full gear. We prepared a nice sumptuous Party jollof rice and grilled fish. In the spirit of Christmas we ensured we prepared a large quantity and shared it to our neighbours and security man. Everyone who ate it kept thanking us and commenting on how sweet it was, at that moment I was so proud of my sisters and I 😍.

The day progressed with my older sister taking us out in the evening to a fancy restaurant where we had an amazing meal,  the food was so nice, it tasted so good that I finished every bit of it 😋. That day I ate a lot till I was filled. After eating we stayed back enjoying the ambience of the restaurant, while gisting, laughing and just reminiscing on how the year has been for each and everyone of us. 

While we were still seated in the restaurant we noticed that there was a small crowd gathered outside , just behind the restaurant we where in, they were seated listening to a live band entertaining the crowd. The band played selected songs of famous indigenous music legends like those of King Sunny Ade, Onyeka Onwenu, and a host of other musicians. The band thrilled the audience so well that just few minutes into their performance, a large number of the audience stood up and danced to the rhythm of the songs. Seeing what was going on from inside my sisters and I decided to go and join the crowd outside, we immediately paid our bills and left the restaurant. Immediately we got to where the show was happening we found a table with chairs to sit on and joined the crowd to enjoy the band performance. I really enjoyed the entire music performance and with time, I also stood up and started dancing. 

After the show ended, we ordered a taxi home. Indeed 2024 Christmas day was a memorable one for me, which I wouldn't forget in a short while. I had so much fun and enjoyed every bit of the moment.

Introducing myself here on Hive has literally been one of the most difficult things for me to do, honestly, if I had my way I would make sure I evade it but it's quite funny 😄  that I just can't and I  have to find a way around it.  I hope it doesn't turn out to be boring but it interests everyone who reads it.

My name is Faith Jeremiah fondly called Faithy by my friends and family, and also called Federica by one of my favourite uncles. The name Federica is of Italian origin and it means a peaceful ruler. I find the meaning of the name endearing and lovely and somehow over the years, I've loved people calling me Federica, maybe because my first name Faith is common and you can find at least one person bearing that name in every gathering lol 😀, and sometimes I just want to be addressed by a name that is particular to me and not really common.

Adding "h" to Federica was as a result of coming on hive and seeing that the name Federica had already been used, so I decided to add "h" to it. In all, my love for the name Federicah made me want to use it as my username here on Hive. 

I was introduced to Hive by @ibbtammy, who would always say Federica come and join Hive. She would always find a way of mentioning hive in every of our conversations. In her usual words "I met so so person on Hive", " Hive taught me this and Hive taught me that”, and "Hive is interesting" and the list is endless. Over time being the inquisitive person that I am, I became interested in knowing what Hive is all about and I decided to come on board. Although I haven't really figured out my way around the blockchain but I know with time I will be able to navigate around it and optimize it whilst having a beautiful and memorable time here. 

I come from a family of four, comprising of 3 girls and a boy. I'm the 3rd child and also the 3rd daughter. I'm from the Southern part of Nigeria, Rivers State to be precise. I was born and raised in Port Harcourt, which is the capital city of Rivers State. I had my primary and secondary education in Port Harcourt, and I obtained my college degree from the prestigious University of Port Harcourt, where I studied Pharmacy.

My journey in Pharmacy school was indeed an unforgettable experience, one characterized by a rollercoaster of emotions. I think going through Pharmacy school was one of the hardest and most challenging things I've done in my life. 

There were moments I felt I couldn't continue and I really wanted to give up but thanks to my close friends and family, who were always there to encourage me to continue. 
Pharmacy school brought out certain abilities in me, that I never knew I possessed, which include the ability to work under pressure, perseverance, effective time management, the ability to read for extended periods of time, and a whole lot of others.

Also, there were so many fond memories I made during my stay there that would live with me forever, like the friends I made, they were the most amazing set of people I met that made my stay there enjoyable, the fun moments we had were heavenly.

I like to describe myself as a bibliophile, my love for books cannot be quantified. I'm an ardent reader of books both fiction and nonfiction, but I tend to read more of fiction. The fact that books can literally take you to places where you've never physically been to is fascinating. All the plots, the suspense, the climax, the plot twists, the characters, and everything in between make reading very enjoyable to me. I visualize every book I read in my mind and it is usually very interesting.

I am a very lovable and sweet person to people who know me. I am of the school of thought that my friend's or family's problem is also my problem. I can never turn a blind eye to my friends or family going through challenges and I don't offer to help, I always try to go the extra mile for those I care about. 

I am a very sensitive person, people's gestures, body language, and attitude towards me never go unnoticed. Immediately I step into a place for the first time I tend to read the room to see if I'm genuinely accepted by the people there. Once I notice the positive energy around the place I tend to go with the flow, have fun and just enjoy my time there, but if I notice that I'm not welcomed I tend to avoid being in such places. 

One striking quality about me is that I am a good listener. I'm that person who would always give a listening ear to anyone who comes to me to talk. I'm that person who my friends literally come to, to vent, to share whatever is bothering them and I give them 100% of my attention without judging them or being biased.

I love music a lot 😍, the fact that music has a way of helping me relax and brings me a kind of peace that is indescribable is so amazing. Once I am less busy, you will always find my headset plugged to my ear, while listening to various songs. I always have a playlist of my favourite songs which I usually listen to. It's just unfortunate that I'm not really a very good singer but that notwithstanding I try to sing alongside whenever I'm listening to music. 

I'm a lover of movies too. I normally watch movies based on recommendations or probably after going through reviews. I watch different genres of movies from action, romance, contemporary, historical, etc, as far as the movie is interesting I'm ever ready to watch it.

It's quite surprising, that I found it challenging to write an intro initially but here I am, having written almost all of my life history 😀 within a short while. I enjoyed writing every bit of this and I look forward to writing more. 

I am glad to be part of the Hive community, a platform that provides me with an opportunity to write about my life’s journey, experiences, thoughts, and adventures without being judged or trolled.
