while most of us normally try to keep busy and out of trouble, ***Chiqui***, being a zen master, just tries to keep out of the sun in the hot hours of the day, becoming active late evening and early morning.

Shady business

Today my post was going to be about extreme Mercury retrograde equipment failure, but this post elbowed himself into the cue.

some say time is accelerating, I suspect I have been more actively posting. what matters is that it seemed like a blink of an eye and I am hoping that going forward it would seem as quick as it did this time.

the peeling of Cork Oaks

**some stats:**
Portugal has about 33% of cork oak area total worldwide
and produces about 51% of natural cork (about 155.000 tons a year)
over 100.000 hectares were planted between 1993 - 1997
the actual anual rhythm of plantation is about 10.000 hectares

open wounds attract insects that can eventually kill the tree.

I have taken this photo with the communication post as reference so you can get an idea of some of these trees.

it is a hard job to do in the heat of our summers, braving the high temperatures and the ants that habit the cork.
newly peeled trees expose this fresh rusty color hidden underneath the cork that once exposed to the elements will gradually get darker.

every harvested tree is marked with white paint marking the year. expert cork peelers can reed the layers in the cork even if the trees are unmarked.
it will take another 9 years before these trees will be ready for a next harvest.

cork professionals come and assess the amounts of arrobas on each tree / whole plantations and the client is paid accordingly, upon agreement in advance for the cork.

in years that the cork prices are low, peelers tend to store the peeled oak, hoping for better future prices.

once the decision to run the chimney tube horizontally through the wall and not through the roof and with the arrival of the extra nails, I could finally finish laying the shingled roof. now it is fully invisible space 😁

I should have taken a closeup photo of how the crest is laid but I didn´t. will try to add it later.
it is basically cutting each shingle tile (1m. long) in three igual parts and laying them sideways with a couple of nails in each and a line of silicone under each following one to create a water seal. again, pretty straight forward.

I wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate @clareartista and @vincentnijman for finding their dream land ❤️
I am curious to see how their project unfolds and happy to have them active again here at #Homesteading 💪

I  am a Nigerian.
I  am a graduate of Accounting with HND program.
I  am and introvert but jovial and also full of vibes around people  with  positive  energy, tho I  love having my own space but outside, I try to associate very well.
I posses both the choleric and the sanguine temperament.

Well,  growing up , I am always  reminded  by  my  self  that  I am the  first  child and that's makes  me  strive  harder and engage on more  task  that  are  positive.
So I am currently working as an interior designer, I transform blank space with my beautiful products, I believe no space is ugly.

What  keeps  me  going  and  motivated  are;  reading,  counseling Teenagers,  writing  and  music.
Right from my tender age, I loved writing  and  it  elevates my mood, I will say to  some  extent  PEN🖋️ isn't only my voice but also  my sword  of  peace.
I don't only see writing as a hobby but as a career to serve humanity.
Talking about  music, it's calms  my  veins  and  keeps  me  optimistic, I can as well sing, as a matter of facts, I am a chorister.

I  find  love  around  teenagers  more  than  my  peers, so  I  feel some  mistake I  made  in  my  teenage  shouldn't  be  repeated by  them. 
I  feel  my  peers  are  full  of  competition  in  which I am  not  ready  for  that,  I  live  my  life  on  a  low  key without  too  much  noise,  I  hate  competition, I  am  just contended  with  the  life i live 
I  am  so comfortable  around  them  than  my  peers  because they  ease  my  burden  with  cock  and  bull  stories  that  I  will be  even  wondering  how  it  came  about.
I  love  my  peers  but  I am scared to live a competitive lifestyle in which I feel that's how 90% of them live their lives,  and honestly  I  can't  live  up  to  that.


When  it  comes  to  passion I  love  teaching .
Immediately  after  my secondary school education,  I  got  into  teaching  and I was just age 15th.
I started teaching small schools that employed me then and gradually I learnt and I can say, I am more better than my initial starting point.
 Tho I  felt  bad  I  didn't secure  a  skill  before  writing  Jamb  but  currently  I am  proud  of  my  self  that  I  know  how  to  do  one thing  at  least better.

It's sad to say that my dad  once  owned  a  school  which  lasted  only  for  six (6) years  then  it  shattered  into  the  thin  air  and  up  till  date  I am  still  pained  🥺😭  but  I  took  it  upon  my  shoulder  that I  will  make  sure  I  raise  an  educational  forum  in  the name  of  my  family and yes , I am working on it.

And about life, I will say life  has  taught  me  to  be  humble,  resilient,  and  bold .
I  never  knew I had little pride, I felt I was humble, by my innocent looks but I saw my self always wanting to rule others by force.
Of course I am smart and intelligent, but I wasn't complete.
I really needed humility so I could cope even with the least people.
I  passed through certain circumstances that brought down my ego.
I felt like a burden was lifted off me, now I am so simple,so free
I stopped judging people, i realized i wasn't perfect either.
I learnt forgiveness the hard way and won't advice people to live with un forgiveness.

I would love to recognize who introduced me to hive and how I met her.
And yes, I  got  to  know  hive  by  a church member's friend, she  told  me she writes, i doubted  it  at  first  untill  she  told  me  about  the  platform called  "HIVE" and also showed her profile on hive and I was really amazed by her writings.

So i am honestly grateful and proud to mention that miss @phyna guided me for a week now on certain ethics  and  the moral  facts of hive.
My mission here, is to write contents and stories that brings value and clarity to people's everyday life activities and I believe that with  hive  blog,  there   will  be  lots  of  changes in  my  writing, lots  of  experience  from  other  people's  own too and I  strongly  believe  I  will  be  able  to  learn  and unlearn both  new and old things.

> ***I remember that we supposedly went "stealing", a couple of us friends, we were 7-8 years old. And our older friends would always warn us not to break the branches of the fruit trees. It was an old man's orchard, which was not fenced in. There was a lot of fruit, and all kinds of it, so there was always fresh fruit. We would sneak around and steal a fruit tree, afraid of him. We thought he was scary and dangerous. But as we matured and grew, that old man once approached us while we were playing football. Well, boys, I have a lot of apricots, come pick them with me, you can take some to your grandmothers. We could hardly wait for that, even though we were supposedly afraid of him until then. While we were picking apricots he told us, I know you come here all the time and take the fruit. And who do you think told your friends not to break the branches. Now you tell your younger friends the same thing. Feel free to come whenever you want and eat the fruit, just don't break the branches. And since then the entrance to the orchard has always been free and without fear.***

WEEK 16 - I Love the Hive Garden Because....


Today is just one of these days.
I am home but very unsettled.
energy is low and my line of thought is jittery.
even though I sleep fairly well at night, I wake up un fresh.
well aware of all that is effecting us.
the Schumann resonance is off the chart as of late.
the sun keeps spewing filaments our way.
the weight and speed of events happening around the world do their share.
and there is the full moon today and rest of the astrology...

a quick follow up on our Pecans sharing their space with pumpkins for the first time with very good results. win win situation scenario.

the effect of all of the above is more then visible in our plants.
even though it is fairly normal to see such sun burns in our summer, this year is very extreme. a combination of dry conditions, our "unfiltered" radiation (for lack of industries and hence contaminants in our area, the radiation hits us hard here), the heat and more makes an already extreme climate, even worse.

there is a lot of talk out there in the alternative community about parasites and the problems associated with them. 
so I have done my own research and decided it was time, for the first time in my life to do it.

the recommendation for the dose is 12mg. per day for 60kgs. of body weight. even though I am slightly over that, we have decided to stay with that.
the pills I got are 4mg. each so it will be 3 pills per day.

it is best to start a deworm with the full moon hence maximizing the effect, working with the natural cycle of the parasites. as they become active at full moon, it is best to start then.

the protocol is pretty straight forward:

12mg. per day (taken at once) during 5 days. (accompanied with fatty foods for best results)
then a pause for 13 days.
and after that 12mg again for 1 last day, in case there is anything left.

I will start July 10th. and the last day will be July 28th.

since this is my first time doing this, I will try to observe any notable effects and share here in a follow up post with my eventual personal conclusions.

the natural process of succession refers to the evolution of a terrain, from an exposed one and all the way through to a forest, which is the normal tendency of nature.

it can happen in an open landscape, after a devastating fire etc.
the first to come are the strongest plants, called "Pioneers" as they can handle full sun exposure, winds, frosts and any other extreme conditions.
they grow creating the conditions for other, more sensitive plants to grow among and below them, providing wind breaking, shade, organic material, Nitrogen fixing and more.
