Hive Stake Based Income (Hive SBI) is a social experiment to bring a voluntary crowdfunded basic income to as many Hivers as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Hive SBI is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

Steem Basic Income appreciates everyone that has supported us in our original vision to bring a voluntary crowdfunded basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Now that the blockchain has forked, we don't think members should be penalized or lose their support based on which blockchain they choose to support. 

We have decided to honor pre-fork subscriptions on the new blockchain, and even make available an option to fully migrate to the blockchain of your choice (details below under refund policy). From the time fork, new enrollments will only apply to the chain on which they are funded.

<center><h2>How do I join (or increase my subscription level)?</h2></center><br>

First, you can simply send 1 HIVE (or more - whole numbers only, no fractional units will be allocated) to @steembasicincome and include **someone else's** account name as the transaction memo.

Second, delegate HP to @steembasicincome. 1 bonus unit is granted per 2 HP delegated and remains in place until the delegation is removed.

Third, participate in some of the many contests run by fellow SBI members. This is not only a great way to potentially win some sponsored units, it also can help you network and grow your following.

The official currency for enrollment is **HIVE** (**HIVE** SBI). 
{We accept HBD at our discretion (usually when they're closely priced, or when HBD is stronger) but you do not receive extra value or any partial refund for paying in HBD instead of HIVE. If we choose to accept an HBD enrollment, we accept the entire amount. If we choose to reject it, we refund the entire amount and request you to send HIVE instead.}

<center><h2>I sent 1 HIVE but I misspelled the name. What can I do?</h2></center><br>
If this happens please send 0.001 HIVE or HBD to @steembasicincome with the correct spelling of the name. Please specify the name you mistakenly put, as well as the correct name. These are reviewed manually, so please give us a few days to fix it and confirm. 

We periodically check for misspelled or broken transactions and fix them, but somewhat infrequently. To ensure timely processing of your enrollment, please check your balances before sending and check again after 3 or more hours to confirm that your enrollment was processed.

<center><h3>I just sent a transaction sponsoring someone and I’m not seeing an upvote on my posts, did you miss my transaction?</h3></center>

If it has been at least three hours, you can check your enrollment by typing `!sbi status` in a comment. You can also check your Hive SBI levels in your PeakD wallet.

How frequently you receive upvotes depends on your subscription level and posting frequency, so you might not receive an update on every post you make! <center><h3>How do I know how many units I have?</h3></center>

There are multiple ways to check your subscription level:
* On Chain: Make a post or comment with the keywords `!sbi status` in it.
* On Discord: Head over to our discord and in the #bot-commands room, type in !hive yourUserName replacing yourUserName with your actual username.

<center><h3>How long does my subscription last?</h3></center>

Regular subscription units last forever. These are the most common units, gained by sending HIVE or by being sponsored. The exception to this is if your account is blacklisted for spam, plagiarism, or illegal activity. If your account was already blacklisted before the Hive fork, then your subscription is *not* migrated to Hive.

Bonus units gained from delegating HP remain in place until you cancel the delegation.

<center><h3>Can my subscription be terminated?</h3></center>

Yes, your Hive SBI subscription can be terminated at sole discretion of Hive SBI for one or more of the following reasons:
* Plagiarism. Posting content from other sources without proper credits and acting as if it's your own.
* Spamming. Creating posts at rapid pace with low effort and low quality content.
* Bad faith. Bad behaviors toward other Steemians. This may include unfair flagging and other inappropriate actions.
* Blacklisted. Hive SBI uses @buildawhale and @steemcleaners blacklists to help identify bad actors. If you get blacklisted by those account you will lose the benefits of your Hive SBI subscription.
* Other reasons. Hive SBI reserves the right to terminate subscription of any user for any reason not mentioned above.
If your account was added to our blacklist, and your subscription effectively terminated, you may have the right to an appeal or partial refund. (See our full [Refund Policy](https://peakd.com/busy/@steembasicincome/sbi-refund-policy-redux).

<center><h3>I'm very low on HIVE but I want to join, can someone sponsor me?</h3></center>
Yes, anyone can sponsor you to join HIVE SBI. Here are some ways you can get sponsored to join the program or get more shares:
* Ask a friend. Tell a friend who already is on Hive ecosystem about the program, and ask them to sponsor you. Both you and your friend get one Hive SBI unit for each HIVE sent for sponsorship!
* Winning Hive SBI contests. The are lots of contests that gives away Hive SBI units as rewards.
* Ask for payment in Hive SBI units. You can provide a product or service for someone within the Steem ecosystem and ask for payment in Hive SBI units instead of HIVE or HBD. Both you and they will benefit from the program if you transact this way!
* Buy HIVE. If all above methods are not working for you, you can always buy HIVE for yourself and enroll into the program. You also get to choose to sponsor other people to the program.
* Convert more Steem Basic Income units into HIVE Basic Income. (see Refund information below)

<center><h3>I know I am enrolled and I didn’t get an upvote!</h3></center>

First, ensure that you have an active subscription by checking the number of units that you have using the tools mentioned above.
From the !sbi status result, check if your rshares balance value is less that $0.06. If so, you need to accumulate more pending balance to hit $0.06 before you get the next $0.02 upvote. If you have reached this threshold but still did not get the upvote, contact the Hive SBI team through discord [here](https://discord.com/invite/Z5KVQ5whKR). <center><h3>Why am I voted by a different account than the person I sponsored?</h3></center>

Hive SBI has many different accounts; @steembasicincome, @sbi2, @sbi3, etc. Your vote will come from the most available account at the time of your post. The vote will always still have the same value that your account was due at that time, no matter which account is used to cast the vote. <center><h3>How can I get bigger upvotes on my posts?</h3></center>

The upvote value given by Hive SBI is determined by the amount of rshares in your pending upvote balance. There are multiple ways to get bigger upvotes from Hive SBI on your posts:
* Enroll for more Hive SBI units. The larger your Hive SBI subscription, the faster your pending upvote balance accumulates. More pending vote balance means bigger upvotes!
* Post less frequently. Even when you are not posting, your Hive SBI pending upvote balance is still constantly accumulating. This will result on bigger upvote value on your next post. You can read more about our upvote delivery in [Value Balances and Upvote Delivery](https://peakd.com/steembasicincome/@steembasicincome/value-balances-and-upvote-delivery).
* Delegating HP to @steembasicincome. You get temporary "bonus units" when you delegate to @steembasicincome. These bonus units give similar benefit compared to regular Hive SBI units. Currently, you get 1 bonus unit for each 2 HP delegation to @steembasicincome. You must already be enrolled in Hive SBI to receive benefits for delegation.

No. **Phasing out of upvoting bonuses for Steem Basic Income was [announced](https://steempeak.com/steembasicincome/@steembasicincome/member-upvotes-provide-sustainability-27-october-2019) 27 October 2019.** We do not plan to bring upvote bonuses to Hive SBI.

Some members get good feelings when they support Hive SBI with upvotes. Your results may vary.

<center><h3>Do I get any benefit from delegating Hive Power to @steembasicincome?</h3></center>
Yes, you get temporary "bonus units" when you delegate to @steembasicincome. These bonus units give similar benefit compared to regular Hive SBI units. Currently, you get 1 bonus unit for each 2 HP delegation to @steembasicincome. Bonus units will be removed if you withdraw your delegation.

<center><h3>What are the different types of units?</h3></center>

There are a few types of units that Hive SBI uses, representing different subscription benefits.
1. Standard units are through the enrollment process. These are differentiated for our refund policy. For other purposes, these are treated exactly the same.
i. Sponsored units are received when someone sponsors you.
ii. Enrolled units are received when you sponsor somebody else.
2. Bonus units are earned by delegating HP to @steembasicincome
3. Management units are created at 5% of standard units. These are issued to the founder (@josephsavage) and lead developer (@holger80) automatically, but may be assigned to users that help improve the project.

<center><h3>What are rshares?</h3></center>

rshares are the unit that Hive uses to calculate rewards. Whenever you upvote, the witness checks your VP% and HP to calculate how many rshares your upvote is worth. Hive SBI uses rshares to track your pending upvote value. Pending upvote value estimates returned by any of our tools are calculated from your rshares at the time of inquiry, but the actual value of your pending upvotes is dependent on HIVE prices and reward pool behavior.

<center><h3>What is your refund policy? Can I sell back my units?</h3></center>

We will publish a detailed post about our post-fork refund policy soon. Our previous [refund policy](https://peakd.com/busy/@steembasicincome/sbi-refund-policy-redux) is still a good reference.

All pre-fork subscriptions (excluding accounts that were already blacklisted at the time of fork) have been split into separate Steem Basic Income and Hive SBI subscriptions. On either fork, you can request a liquid refund by sending 0.003 transaction memo to @steembasicincome. Memo should read `Liquid Refund request`. 
Since your subscription is forked, requesting on one chain will result in a **partial** refund of half the amount provided by the [refund policy](https://peakd.com/busy/@steembasicincome/sbi-refund-policy-redux). As the liquid refund policy only covers *enrolled units*, outstanding sponsored units will be transferred to the other chain (adjusted for price difference; please see italicized edit below) (adjusted for price difference; please see italicized edit below). If you request on both chains, it will result in receiving the full Liquid Refund detailed by the [refund policy](https://peakd.com/busy/@steembasicincome/sbi-refund-policy-redux).

**To transfer your remaining subscription from Steem Basic Income to Hive SBI (or vice versa):**
Send 0.003 transaction memo, to @steembasicincome, reading `Transfer Refund Request` and your remaining subscription will be transferred to the other chain. *(Edit: relative STEEM/HIVE prices will be taken at the time your transfer is processed and you may receive a different amount than you had on the other chain - this helps keep each program properly capitalized and fully sustainable).*

Please make sure you are using nodes that interact with the chain that you are leaving when you send this request. Note that any subscription units transferred this way will be treated as sponsored units for any future refund requests, regardless of their original provenance.

# What is Hive SBI?
Hive Stake Based Income (Hive SBI) is an account-based curation program. You sponsor accounts for regular ongoing curation, and then you receive back curation rewards as upvotes on your own content. This empowers both accounts to earn a sustainable crowdfunded basic income.

Members regularly accrue pending balance, and when their pending upvote balance is high enough, they receive an upvote on their latest post (or next post if their latest post is older than 24 hours), from one or more of our curation accounts.

## Tokenization is Here
As the first step toward major improvements in the functionality and usefulness of our curation program, we have released opt-in tokenization. The HSBI token is now available on Hive Engine, with supply created as-needed, and a maximum supply of 21 million.

## Functionality
These HSBI tokens do **not** receive upvotes. In the future, holders will be entitled to curation dividends, paid in kind. We will announce that release when it is ready. Please do not buy HSBI tokens in anticipation of either upvotes or dividends prior to that release.

At the present moment, the only usefulness for HSBI tokens is to sell them on Hive Engine's markets. We have placed orders on the order book at 0.475, with the intent of providing liquidity for anyone that needs it. Since Hive SBI's internal 'voting units' are created at a rate of 1 HIVE per 2 units (one each for sponsor and sponsee), the origination value is 0.50. We have placed the buy-wall at a slight discount to that to eliminate some origination arbitrage opportunities that would otherwise drain value from the program.

There may be additional usefulness to these tokens at a future date.

### How to get it?
We are leveraging the auto-transfer functionality that was [released in July](https://peakd.com/hive-189312/@steembasicincome/new-functionality).

To tokenize your Hive SBI voting units, send 0.001 HBD per unit to @steembasicincome, with `sbi-tokens` in the transaction memo. This will transfer your voting units to @sbi-tokens and it will issue HSBI tokens to you in return. If you sent more HBD than is needed, the excess will be refunded to you by @sbi-tokens. 

We have removed the 999 unit cap on auto transfer functionality. You can transfer as many units as you have to @sbi-tokens. If you have fewer than 5 Hive SBI voting units, please send 0.005 HBD still. Any smaller value than 0.005 HBD is handled as a transaction memo and not an auto-transfer, as most wallet spam is in this micro-transaction range.

These transactions are processed as part of our enrollment cycle that runs every 2.4 hours. If you don't get your tokens right away, please don't panic!  If it has been more than 2.4 hours, let us know in our Discord and we will look into it. If you try to sell your tokens on Hive Engine and there is not enough liquidity at the buywall price, please let us know and we will refresh it.

Hive SBI Enrollment

To curate accounts using Hive SBI, enrollment is pretty straightforward:

Just send 1 HIVE to [@steembasicincome](https://peakd.com/@steembasicincome/). Include the name of a Hiver to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 unit in the program. You can sponsor any active Hiver (except for yourself), it does not have to be a current member.

This is an open-access program. You do not already have to be a Hive SBI member to enroll by sponsoring another Hive account.

The official currency for enrollment is HIVE. HBD transactions are only accepted for auto-transfer functions, not for member enrollment. Enrollments are processed automatically every 144 minutes.
